Recently at a Tokyo hotel, Nintendo president Satoru Iwata announced to reporters that the next game console being developed by the company is currently being code-named "Revolution." Iwata did not reveal any details regarding the new console but did state that the prototype will be unveiled next year.
"What we need is not a next-generation machine but a next-generation way of playing games. We need to propose a new idea so that the game industry can overcome its current crisis," Iwata told reporters.
Iwata is concerned about the game industry relying too heavily on eye-candy and dazzling effects as the focal point of game development and cited the steadily declining game sales in Japan and the slowed growth of the U.S. market as a sign that a change of direction is needed.
More information will be available on the Nintendo Revolution as it develops.
Does that mean it's not going to be graphically superior? Just more innovated?

^ i dont think so, nintendo is teaming up with ATI, so they will have a powerfull console, and all consoles since nes have been more powerfull then the least powerful competitor.
I just hope that they don't come out with something really stupid that most consumers will think is "gay".
Yeah, and nothing that I would be embarrassed to have.
I just hope it doesen't suck. If it does well....there are other consoles.
Proud 1993 JDM WRX owner!
Its almost like they expected their customers to be gay or something, with that gay purple.
