    What was I thinking about when I said a lot of crap about
    X-Box? I should just return to saying why I like GC better than X-Box with facts or oppinions I have instead of saying X-Box sucks, and swearing about it. Again I really don't hate the X-Box. I just said it sucks because people said GC sucks and it was fun but how immature I was, sorry about that. Also X-Box fans you'll be happy to hear that I do have some good things to say about X-Box.

    -controller pad will be compatible with all games unlike pc

    -PSX started with a $300 price tag, but with X-Box you get more in the system

    -according to a lot of people the controller sucks but hey it should feel better than a keyboard or a mouse

    -we'll probably see games that PC games should have been like

    -you don't have to worry about buying a controller that feels better than a keyboard or mouse

    -you can rent and try out the games before buying unlike the PC

    There you have it I said some good things about X-Box but that doesn't mean I'm going to go with the system or buy it. I'm still getting a GC. Also GC fans Heero is right we need to stop this crap. That includes you X-Box fans too.

  8. Why are so many people concerned with DVD drives in their console systems?? The thing is supposed to play games not DVD's.

    More memory for games...

    1.5GB is good... But the more, the merrier, ya know? ^_^;

    Why is the xbox a PC?

    If you look at a Gamecube, all it has is a new ATI graphics chip and a PowerPC w/ a custom DVD drive (thus a simplified Mac) and the new T-SRAM The PS2 is just a customized MIPS CPU w/ a DVD drive and a bunch of crap RDRAM. Sony pushing the PS2 as a extensible PC (see HD add-on, Realplayer, Linux, BBA) is proof of what kind of trojan horses they are

    Doesn't that mean that every concole is a PC?

    Temjin, Nintendo said something about that if the GC had software the size of a regular DVD it would be a waste of space to most developers and something about expansion in the system. I think that the system will have something inside it that works like a expansion pak.

    ... Heh. It would be a waste of space for them, more like it. Thats not right... Speaking for the majority of developers like that.

    But still, if the space is needed, its there on the PS2 and Xbox. But 1.5GB is fine for Nintendo.

  14. The space is there for the lazy developers, who can't write up compression algorythms, do real time cutscenes, or emulate a MPEG 4 decoder.

    Factor 5 has only filled up about 210MB's (I'm not sure of the exact number) for Rogue Leader. Next DC's GDROMS were 1GB in total. Yet how many 2 disc DC games have you seen? Very few. GCN has 1.56 GB's worth of space, just under 3 regular CDROMS, well enough space for a good developer. Also DVD's can be multi-layered, double sided, and if nessecary purged onto multiple discs. It's nothing big and those 8cm MDVD's are pretty interesting, not to mention small. Go open your CD/DVDROM drive and the inner rim is designed for a 8cm mini-disc. Small isn't it?

  15. I would rather it didn't include a DVD, i am prob gonna get an PS2 if the price drops some more, and two DVD's would be a huge waste of money! Imageine tech freaks (like I would be if I had more cash) that have a DVD player and all three consoles!

    I belive 1.5 gig is easily enough to hold an etire game, hell, look what Nintendo managed to fit on carts! (Zelda ect) The only way you could fill up a DVD is with a mivie and music, but as was mentioned above, the developer would be too lazy to compress it! Compression is now at a rate that you can fit an entire DVD movie onto a single CD, with very little quality loss.

    In the end though, are we buying our machines to watch movies or play games?

    v.v;

    I still say the more the merrier. ^_^;

    Just in case, ya know?... Oh yeah, I believe the Mini-DVDs cost more to produce than a normal DVD. Oo;

    i personaly could give a damn if there was a DVD player. I mean, I'm just fine w/a VCR Plus, I don't buy or rent movies/DVDs much at all, so it would just be wasting space in the system to me

    also (correct me if i'm wrong) I heard the DVD players in these systems have poor quality... um, stuff. It isn't as clear as reg. DVDs, or even VHS tapes.

    Well, in the end its good to have the space than not have it at all. For just in case situations. ^_^;

    ... The Playstation 2's DVD player isn't the best, but its nowhere near VHS quality. Where'd you hear that from? o_o;

    The Xbox will be using a Progressive Scan DVD player, with more features than the PS2's.
