• E3 2016: Xbox Conference Wrap Up

Microsoft kind of got their wind knocked out of them with all the leaks that they had before the show including a run down of each announcements earlier in the morning. Even then they had a pretty good show and continued focusing on games and not things around them.

The main theme of the first party is a combination Xbox One and Windows 10 releases. Forza Horizon 3, Dead Rising 4, State of Decay 2 were announced with more footage for Gears of War 4, ReCore, Sea of Theives and Scalebound. Minecraft also showed up and announced that allow iOS, Android, and Windows 10 to play together also had Oculus employee John Carmack don a Gear VR.

Another theme was lackluster demoes of Japanese titles with large enemies between both Scalebound and Final Fantasy XV. Battlefield 1 also showed up and replayed the same trailer that was show at EA yesterday.

Harada in a samurai kimono to the stage to show off Tekken 7, CD Projekt Red announced Witcher 3's card game Gwent will be getting a full release, and Contrast developer Compulsion Games showing off the trippy We Happy Few. Lastly Limbo creators Playdead showed off Inside which seems very much like Limbo.

Hardware wise Microsoft announced that they have set up a site where people can go and customize their controllers with different colors, d-pads, button, etc. They also announced the Xbox One S which again matched the rumors circulating around. There was a bit of a mistake where they had a disclaimer saying that the controller would be sold separately but that was quickly debunked. Xbox One S will start at $299 with a 500GB hard drive and a 2TB hard drive going for $399.

The last thing in the press conference was Project Scorpio confirming details from multiple reports over the past few months. The reasoning behind this showing was likely to combat worries from fans with these new machines and they seem to do a good job.
