• Amazon Instant Video Now Available for PS3

                The last PlayStation Blogcast hinted at a new video service coming to the PlayStation 3 and now we know what service that is. The app for Amazon's Instant Video service is up to download under the video section the XMB. Individual movies and TV shows are available for rental or purchase, with Amazon Prime members having full access to the catalog of roughly 17,000 items.

                  interesting.....i thought my vizio was going bad but was able to fix it. In the interim I was looking for a good 3d tv with the amazon prime app(among others), because I am tired of using my laptop. Great news!

                  God... sometimes I really envy you Americans... (not that we actually HAVE Amazon Streaming here at all, but they do own LoveFilm now, which is also on PS3, albeit in VERY bad quality).

                  I think Vidzone is the one thing you guys have that we don't.....that I would enjoy, but I feel your pain.

                  I haven't used Vidzone in ... what feels like a decade. I simply don't listen to THAT music anymore. Also, I do have a working upnp server setup here, so I can stream all my music to the PS3 anyways :P

                  I just don't get why they can't get their f'ing act together to build up a world wide system... it works with games (i.e. Steam, GOG etc). Why not with music and movies? (well, I do know the answer, but it's about time that this changes)

                  In Germany, as a University student you can get Prime for free for a year^^ Snagged it up (as I am a student for only 4 more weeks or so^^). But German Prime doesn't offer any video streaming, sadly. Just free priority shipping on stuff below 20€.

                  The video service is only for paying Prime customers, They have the Student Prime half off over here which includes the video service.

                  Wow that sucks. IIRC we get 2-day free shipping on all purchases(not limited to money spent) and next day for $3.99.

                  Yup, that's what Prime is for here in Germany... but Prime is also less expensive than in the US... so it's not as bad.

                  If Lovefilm had HD streams with selectable language, I would probably get it... but as it is now... no way. I'd rather get a US VPN and Netflix.
