Unique Japanese Horror Title Developed by Team GrisGris and 5pb Now Available for Download on PlayStationNetwork
Torrance, Calif., (November 22, 2011) – XSEED Games, an independent-minded publisher, today announced that their latest horror adventure title for the PSP® (PlayStation®Portable) system, Corpse Party, is now available for download on PlayStation®Network at the terrifyingly affordable price of $19.99.
Corpse Party is presented using crisp 2D sprite graphics in a classic 16-bit style, amplified by shockingly horrific hand-drawn anime-style art stills. 3D audio is mixed with morbidly descriptive text, allowing players’ minds to wander and providing a truly engrossing horror experience. Put on a pair of headphones and Corpse Party becomes even more terrifying, with creepy background noises and voices of the deceased speaking right into your ears.
As players advance through Corpse Party, they will strive to avoid the game’s more than 20 “wrong ends,” in which tragedy takes over and one or more characters suffer a grim demise. Whether buried alive, forced to swallow scissors or cannibalized by your best friend, wrong ends are often as disturbing as they are morbidly intriguing. To advance through the game, players must reach the one true ending in each of the game’s five chapters to unlock the next leg of the journey. The game features several endings for players to experience depending on how many of their characters survive the journey through the haunted school – and at Heavenly Host Elementary, survival is no easy task.
Corpse Party was originally developed as an independent title by Team GrisGris, and was later adapted for the PSP® (PlayStation®Portable) system by 5pb. It is now available in North America from XSEED Games as a download through the PlayStation®Store, and is priced at $19.99. The game has been rated “M” for Mature by the ESRB.
