E-mpire - Second Circle Pad Peripheral For 3DS Officially Revealed
              • Circle Pad Peripheral For 3DS Officially Revealed

Last week it was revealed that a peripheral was in the works for the Nintendo 3DS that would grant players a second circle pad. The peripheral was expected to appear at Nintendo's 3DS Conference that took place Monday morning in Japan, but the circle pad attachment was a no show. That doesn't mean the peripheral was shelved though, as the device made an official appearance on Nintendo's official Japan site.

Based on the info shared on Nintendo's site, the peripheral will cost 3DS owners 1,500 yen to purchase, which is about $20. The attachment will release on December 10, alongside Monster Hunter 3G. A AAA battery will be needed to power the device, and one will be included in the package.

As expected, games will need to be programmed to be compatible with the second circle pad. A icon will be placed on certain games that support the device. The current list of games that will include support for the second circle pad can be viewed below.

                - Monster Hunter 3G
                - Resident Evil Revelations
                - Metal Gear Solid Snake Eater 3D
                - Ace Combat 3D Cross Rumble
                - Dynasty Warriors Vs
                - Kingdom Hearts 3D

The peripheral is currently set for a Japan release, so there's no details available yet on a release outside of Japan. With Nintendo still progressing forward with the second circle pad attachment, many can't help but wonder when Nintendo will release the much-expected 3DS redesign that will most likely include the second circle pad already in.

Already a very nice list of support. And notice they are all 3rd party titles too. Also explains why some games were quiet for a while. And I'm sure we can add Monster Hunter 4 to the list too.

                  - Monster Hunter 3G
                  - Resident Evil Revelations
                  - Metal Gear Solid Snake Eater 3D
                  - Ace Combat 3D Cross Rumble
                  - Dynasty Warriors Vs
                  - Kingdom Hearts 3D

And don't forget that this perfectly sets up the 3DS as a potential Wii U controller unit.

You must be the only person on the internet defending this peripheral Viper. Well you and Activision.

And Capcom, Konami and Namco Bandai.

I'm only defending it because I see the potential in it solving the Wii U controller issue.
