Based on the info shared on Nintendo's site, the peripheral will cost 3DS owners 1,500 yen to purchase, which is about $20. The attachment will release on December 10, alongside Monster Hunter 3G. A AAA battery will be needed to power the device, and one will be included in the package.
As expected, games will need to be programmed to be compatible with the second circle pad. A icon will be placed on certain games that support the device. The current list of games that will include support for the second circle pad can be viewed below.
- Monster Hunter 3G
- Resident Evil Revelations
- Metal Gear Solid Snake Eater 3D
- Ace Combat 3D Cross Rumble
- Dynasty Warriors Vs
- Kingdom Hearts 3D
The peripheral is currently set for a Japan release, so there's no details available yet on a release outside of Japan. With Nintendo still progressing forward with the second circle pad attachment, many can't help but wonder when Nintendo will release the much-expected 3DS redesign that will most likely include the second circle pad already in.
