TGS 2001: It's Official! Sega and Microsoft Sign Mutli-title Deal

The 3rd-Party bandwagon just got 11 games heavier.

The daily grind was rudely interrupted earlier this week by a rumor that sent shock waves through the Xbox community -- now Microsoft and Sega have confirmed that the two are conspiring to bring the upcoming console a host of quality titles in the next 12 months.
Sega, a new player on the 3rd party publishing scene, has confirmed that it will be bringing no fewer than 11 titles to the Xbox, and the following four games were revealed during the announcement:

Gunvalkyrie: Smilebit's upcoming action shooter, formerly announced as a Dreamcast title, has now been confirmed as an Xbox game. This futuristic shooter, in which players play intergalactic mercenaries are in a constant struggle for power, promises to deliver tons of action.

Jet Grind Radio Future (Tentative):One of the Dreamcast's most innovative, entertaining titles is now making its way to Xbox via a super-charged sequel. Details are limited at this point, but expect the game to be even more impressive from a visual standpoint, and perhaps even make use of the Xbox's network functionality.

Panzer Dragoon (Latest Version): It's been a long time coming, but Sega and Microsoft confirmed that "Xbox owners will be the first to return to the stunning world of Panzer Dragoon." While details as to which genre this title will head towards are unavailable at this point, Sega promises that fans of the series will be pleased with its progression.

Sega GT 2 (Tentative): Microsoft obviously sees this partnership as a great opportunity to shore up some competitive weaknesses, as the sequel to Sega's best weapon against Sony's Gran Turismo series is headed to the Xbox. Expect higher frame rates, more tracks, high polygon counts and more from this revved up sequel.
As for the rest of the titles, Sega promises additional details in the near future, focusing on its excitement towards the partnership itself. "We believe that Microsoft will be very successful with Xbox," said Peter Moore, president and COO, Sega of America. "Our world-renowned development studios have been very impressed with the Xbox hardware and they are excited to bring new gaming experiences to consumers by utilizing the platform's power. We will work with them to deliver the best content possible to gamers."

Microsoft is equally jazzed about the deal, and CXO Robbie Bach noted, "Having Sega on board with Xbox is a huge win for gamers around the World. The creative artists at Sega are not only going to deliver great Xbox games, but they will help us establish the benchmark for great Xbox gaming experiences both on and offline."

Exciting news for gaming enthusiasts, to be certain. IGN Xbox will be back with more details on the specifics of the software line-up in the near future, but until then, be sure to keep your eyes peeled for a full interview with Sega on the partnership later tonight.

I am not Sega fan, personaly I realy don't care for any of there games. One reason is because if they were good games they would still be selling, because PS2 has very few good games. Even though PS2 is technologicly more advanced then Dream Cast, Sega should have pushed there platform to the limit to contend with Sony. Everyone knows that Bill Gates gave them $$$$ just to get there atention. But did you here that any of those titles would be exclusive Titles? No, thats because they won't be exclusive to Xbox. Unless Gates decides to pay them more and make them a second party producer. I highly doubt that will hapen but its always posible. Kind of like Nintendo buying the Silicon Knights no one thought it would hapen and when it did, PS fans were pissed because they lost Too Human Quite posibly one of the best games ever thought up. I think that Xbox will sell more for Tecmo's(DOA3)a fighting game, and some of Konami's games like Silent Hill, and other ported over PS2 games.

Sega is to lazy to spend months working on recreating enyire new games the games will probaly be ported over Dream Casts games that have a few graphic and sound upgrades. The Game play will be simular because Xbox's and Dream Casts controler will be simular. the Story line will probably be the same. 11 titles is alot so theres no way Sega could posibly make completely new games.

No they are not Exclusive. Were did you read that? There I'm prety shure but not positive that only 1 or 2 were exclusive. But this realy dosb't matter like I said before if any of the games were actualy that good Sega should have been able to fight of the PS2 games since none of PS2 games are that good at the moment.
