Yeah, it's been a while! It's not 20 years old yet, but it will be on April 21. 1up has an article about it (http://www.1up.com/do/blogEntry?bId=8985103&publicUserId=5379721).

By the way, here's mine. Not looking all that bad after two decades!

Note the "1989". The bad news is that it doesn't work anymore :cry2: But it did work a couple years ago, when I found it in a drawer. Now it won't turn on. I used new batteries and checked the battery contacts and they work, so it must be something inside. I don't have a triwing screwdriver, but I wonder if I could do anything to make it work again. I would really like it to come back to life.

Do you still keep yours? Post pics!

No I don't have mine but it was pretty much the perfect hand held at that time. Quality engineering D + was very responsive A / B had good feel. They were a little big but they felt Solid in your hands something that the GB Pocket lacked and also I very much for some strange reason loved the greenish look of the original rather than the black and white display of later revisions, and I certainly hated the color version something I won't go into. The GBA was good form again.

here is that gulf war GB that still works for the millionth time!

The made in Japan is nice something well never see again.

Who couldn't love that game.

My GB is mostly dead since half the screen has lines going up and down it, oh well.

I still have mine lying around somehow, haven't touched it in years.

Yay Nintendo World.

I love that for the longest time, people called every portable Game Boys even when there was other stuff on the market.

I still have an original GameBoy, but I'm not sure if it works or not. I don't have 4 AA batteries and a game to play to test it out. I also don't have the battery cover for the back. Instead I just taped some cardboard on the back of it.

I kind of wish I had all my other old handhelds.

I still have the original Game Boy, and it worked the last time I used it, but that's been many years ago. I don't have a pile of AA batteries with which to test it to see if it still works at the moment, but I have no reason to suspect that it doesn't.

Oh, the memories... I remember getting Mario Land 2 for Christmas in 1992 and I remember how thrilled I was. Great game. Haven't played it in years, though. The GB had its fair share of really fine games. The Mario Lands, Tetris, Metroid II, Zelda... the FF Legends... they put together a decent little library considering the limitations on the system.

This thread made me look for my old Gameboy but it is not with all of my other (older) video game stuff. I have no idea were it's at but it served me well. I have fond memories of playing Tetris, Kid Icarus and T2 among others but those stand out the most.

I'm pretty disappointed I can't find it I wanted to see if it still worked.

I can't believe mine doesn't work anymore, it did only two or three years ago. I know the battery compartment is fine and conducts the power from the batteries, so I don't know why it won't turn on. Major disappointment :(

I hope hope hope that the new Nintendo handheld (whenever it comes out) will have a VC-esque service. What they're doing with the DSi... I think it's gotta be some kind of warm-up for the real thing with the new handheld, which I think might be coming out in late 2010 since the DSi has been a colossal bust, near as I can tell. In less than three weeks, I think my Target has sold... eight?

Wow I remember getting one of those on my 6th birthday with Tetris. The thing was made the year I was born!
