2008 DS Game of The Year

Of course there had to a 2008 GOTY thread for the DS as well. So many great titles so I know there will definitely be many different answers.

I played lots of DS games this year so it was kinda hard to pick one that stood out from all the rest. For me it came down to Professor Layton and the Curious Village and The World Ends With You. Since I'm a huge RPG fan, I would have to give it to TWEWY. I'm a huge puzzle junkie as well so those two games were pretty close.

As for my mentions, there are too many. Especially for RPGs like Disgaea, FFTA2, Luminous Arc 2, Dragon Quest 4, Final Fantasy 4, Chrono Trigger, and others. Too many great games to really mention them all.

Not counting re-releases, I'd have to pick The World Ends With You with Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia as the runner-up. Glad to see a couple of games didn't cater to the brain-dead casual gamer like 90% of them did.

I really like Professor Layton and The World Ends With You also... and it is really hard to decide which is the best of the year because they're both original, fun, and well-designed games. But if I had to choose one favorite, I would have to pick The World Ends With You.

The style of the game is really creative and everything about the game play is extremely well-thought out. Its a very in-depth and complex game, but its worth every moment of playing. I like the way that the game develops with the story and characters... but most of all the the fighting and exploring. One thing that really sets this game apart from any others is that its very unpredictable, but in a good way that keeps you interested and playing.
