So many time I saw people not being able to work this, even regular users, which is fair enough since it's a bit random the way you embed it but it's easy as heck obviously once you know what part to embed SO:
URL of YouTube video= http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=714-Ioa4XQw
To embed you take the bit after the = and wrap it up in the YouTube code.
So for that video:
714-Ioa4XQw[/youtube.] (without the dot obviously)
So using the above steps, we get spiderpig!
[youtube]714-Ioa4XQw
YAYYYYYYYYY!!!!

I could have used this thread a minute ago ;).
I seemed to get it to work some other way (copying and pasting things from the youtube 'embed') link...

Nice, that works too which also means you can customise the look before embedding! :cloud9:
Well now you have two ways!
People still don't know how to use that?

Wait a minute.
If the embedding code works with the youtube code.....does this mean we can embed any other player that gives an embed code? *tries*

Well this helps a great deal. You don't know how many times I've wanted to post vids and kept fudging up the embed method.
Thanks a million, dude!!

Good post masteratt! This is genuinely helpful to a lot of folks I bet!
Cheers.
Also, if you ever want to bump up the quality [sometimes it will make the audio/visual of YouTube videos a little more clear] you can add " &fmt=18 " to any video, and it should improve a bit.
[ Minus the quotation marks, of course. ]
