Signature Devices and Graffiti Entertainment have announced today that they have signed an agreement with Studio Archcraft to publish their real time tactical combat RPG for the Nintendo DS, Project Exile. Graffiti Entertainment is planning to have the game released in February of 2008.

The title was actually announced a while back (see our previous coverage here (http://www.allrpg.com/rpgnews/news_show.php?newsid=2717)), but there was no definite publisher. If you need a reminder about what this game is about, here are some of the game's features given in the press release:

---------------------
Beautiful and vivid environments create a realistic yet imaginative landscape filled with attractive and detailed scenery. There are complex worlds full of realistic characters struggling for control of their inner powers. Dark secrets and powerful plot twists fill an epic tale with imagination and life. The player controls a team of eight fully developed playable characters armed with over 100 different abilities, skills and combos, as they progress through a rich, colorful world, filled with magic and adventure.
---------------------

"Project Exile is a fantastic Japanese style RPG. With over 50 hours of fun game play and stunning graphics, RPG fans will really enjoy this game. We are very excited to add this RPG to our growing list of published products," said Kenneth Hurley, CEO of both Signature Devices and Graffiti Entertainment.

Project Exile will be released in February of 2008.

Just read about this on the nintendo_ds LiveJournal community.
Uh, looks really good.
Guess the developers were having a hard time getting it published because it was supposed to come out at the beginning of this year and it didn't.

Has a great 16 bit feel to it. Looks good, love the customizations, graphics, characters. Combat looked a touch weak though unfortunately but I may be holding it against Chrono Trigger and FFIII which isn't exactly fair.

The character animations are kind of silly, and the whole graphic style just (obnoxiously) screams "FFVI!," but that aside, this game looks completely gorgeous, not to mention pretty interesting. It's not often you see an RPG starring a character who LACKS a special gift rather than having one. I might look into this, depending on how it develops.

Good storys are few and far between in RPGs any more so this might sate my old school urges.
I think the combat has some decent ideas but it seems weak watching it.

It makes me think of my GBA days. Thats for sure. Everything seems so... elementary about it.

It was developed for GBA I think, but then they didn't have a publisher. I wonder if they just didn't bother updating the graphics or anything for DS since it was already basically done?

A GBA game? At this stage. Interesting. The game looks like a carbon copy of Chrono Trigger. If it's half as good as the afformentioned, it should be great.

Seems pretty cool. Im always frightened that 2D games will become obsolete and no one will make them any more. I guess it was made for GBA first... but still. It does look very nice.
