Third best sales week since the console launched in the UK.
GamesIndusty.biz reports that PlayStation 3 hardware sales in the UK have seen a 178% increase following the launch of the £299 40GB PS3 and the now cheaper 60GB PS3 which comes bundled with two games.
The boost catapults the console ahead of weekly Xbox 360 sales, but still finds itself behind the Nintendo DS and Wii.
As reported earlier (http://www.pro-g.co.uk/news/16-10-2007-6685.html), the rise in hardware sales also gave a boost to PlayStation 3 software: Resistance: Fall of Man, Heavenly Sword and MotorStorm all climbed the chart.http://www.pro-g.co.uk/news/16-10-2007-6688.html
