It is almost August 29, the release date for the highly anticipated sequel in Japan, and the scores are coming in.
Nintendo's next in-house game, Pikmin 2, is due out in about two weeks in Japan. The next entry in Shigeru Miyamoto's innovative "hunter-gatherer" pseudo-gardening strategy game will soon be available for those in the land of the rising sun to purchase.
Generating hype for the game shouldn't be too dificult at all. Considering that the original Pikmin was definately one of the highest rated games of its time. From all the information gathered in recent weeks however, it appears that EAD has outdone themselves and have gone all out in implementing more and more ideas in the sequel.
It seems to have payed off according to the Japanese gaming press. Two GameCube specific magazines, Famitsu GC and Degenki GC (these aren't the more mainstream regular Famitsu/Degenki mags, but are still important) have given their scores for the game. Look below to see how the title fared:
Famitsu GC: 10, 10, 9, 10
Degenki GC: 9, 9, 9
We will be certain to keep you updated as details of Pikmin 2's release come out. Especially whenever the scores for the regular Famitsu are published.
these are great reviews for pikimin
