Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles is still on track for 2007
- Devil Kings 2 for Wii in Japan, no US announcement yet
- More unannounced games for 2007, and “at least one” should be announced in the next few weeks
I wouldnt be suprised if it got delayed... we have barely seen anything on umbrella chronicles.
I wonder what the unannounced games are.... lol if its devil may cry.

I'll believe it when I see it.
And by see it, I mean more than 3 and a half seconds of trailer

The game engine is already there so game development won't take nearly as long as RE4 did. We'll see it this year.

So it is officially based on RE4 engine?
I heard rumors flying around that it would be yet another remake of 1.
Viper

Koten, it's called Umbrella Chronicles and it details the story from RE 1-4. It will use an advanced version of the RE4 engine. Besides, why let such an awesome game engine go to waste on one game?
It's certainly not a remake of the first one....again.

I'm just telling you what I heard.
Anyway, if it is using the RE4 Engine w/ Wii enhanced controls, I'll be all over it.

i can't belive i've never heard of this.
if it's as good as it sounds, it could convince me to buy a wii...

i thought you play different parts of RE games using the RE4 engine.... so i guess in a way it is a remake of previous ones... but not really. it uses the RE4 engine... that will make it worth the purchase.

You do play specific scenarios from the games plus new content that ties them all together. That would be silly to just play 'episodes' from each game.

this excites me.
i'm guessing there isn't any screens or anything?

well what i hope is that the playable characters are Wesker and Ada and the story follows them in whatever they did in RE1-4. that way we get to see their side of the story. get to see what they have been doing behind the scenes.
Wesker is bad ass and i just want to bust some zombie heads with him.

yes i thought so too.
now all i need is for Capcom to announce that RE5 will make it to Wii albeit a graphically toned down version.
right now i'm not liking that have to buy a PS3 or 360 just for RE5.

I'm still waiting for Shinji Mikami to cut his own head off... he said that the main RE games would stay with Nintendo.

:pThe exprecsion "Cutting my head off" in Japanese is equivelent to the English expression "I'm jumping ship."
In other words, it ment he would quit, which he did.

If it's half as good as RE4, it'll be the best game on Wii. <Totally obsessed

best single part in any RE game.
i want to know more about the controls...

Anything with Ada in it was better. :) No but that game was full of cut scenes even Kojima wishes he could do.

i both love and hate that scene. it was quite the challenge. so satisfying to finish. but so frustrating when i miss pressing by just a fraction of a second.
adding more action into the RE series definitely did it some good.

With that scene, I found that for some reason I got it first go the first time I played through the game, but the more times I played through it the more attempts it took to get past that cutscene. Did that happen to anyone else?
Still one of the coolest things to get put in a game though.

So..., the one picture we have so far is of doors. Of all the things that could have been in our only screenshot, it had to be doors.

i havn't played my wii since I beat Zelda. Summer is too far to wait for the next big games, and VC has been lacking great games that I DON'T have. It needs mario RPG, My Snes version died. I haven't played a single video game on any console since zelda. That was January. My poor 250 dollar investment is getting some dust.

You dont find any of the current Wii games slightly intriguing? And im gunna assume you have played all the good/great GCN games.

Well the GCN is great, but I have a brand new wii. One that cost me 250 dollars. One that I have not played since January. Other than Zelda the only really good loking game is Wario Ware, but I am waiting to spend my money on a new expierence. Wario Ware is a bunch of mini games, wich is a good time, but not the video game I need to fill my needs. ( I rented it). So yes I have my cube, but there isn't anything new for that, and the wii is taken its time to get up to speed. It's is like owning an x-box 360 for its first year. Sad.

If you are bored by your Wii, it is your own fault.
With VC games, a whole GC library, and some intriquing Wii games, you shouldn't have trouble finding something to play ;-]

I have 2 VC games. of which I have beaten all of which I have played or beaten. I have had a GCN since it came out. Sonic and the secret rings is not the grade a title I am waiting for. So I wait. As did the 360 buyers. I want 4 games. SSB, Metroid, Mario, and Saddness. That is 200 dollars. 200 is a lot of money. I have some saved up, but I am going to have to be a little picky. And even if I had the luxery not to be picky the games that are out right now, minus Zelda do not appeal enough to keep me occupied until I beat the bear minimum of the games. I am sorry I just feel like complaining.

What you can always do is get the gamepass at blockbuster, for like 14.99 initially. You can rent unlimited games for a month. Thats what i did over Christmas break, and i never once put down my wii. It was a blast.

I was like that too...things were too much "been there done that" OoT feel until after the Arbiter's Ground (Sand temple). Then things got good after that, now I can't stop.

Take a careful look at the below screeshot supposedly from the new RE for Wii.
http://image.com.com/gamespot/images/2006/256/933020_20060914_screen001.jpg
This supposed screen from from the new RE seem to me like it is from the RE-1 remake from Gamecube. This was the room with the statue in the middle(Which you can see) atop which you could push a create to find an typewriter ribbon. It was one of the rooms on the main mansion floor, directly off the main hallway.
See below? Same room as above, but from the GC-RE remake.

the RE:UC pic is from the 4 seconds of footage that was seen during a game montage at a Nintendo press conference in September.
in that footage the door falls completely down revealing the whole statue. we also got to see the mansions entry hall and dining room.
the thing i like about the footage is that it indicates that the game wont have fixed camera angles. the thing i dont like is that it looks like the game could be like an arcade shooter where you go through the environments and shoot bullets at whatever jumps into view. the reason i say it looks like it is because of the way the camera moved through the building and how the door fell down without seeing the reason why it fell down.
i'm hoping its not like an arcade shooter and that Capcom is just using the footage to show us that the game will be in full 3d and how good the mansion will look.

It's actually pretty good, I'm enjoying it a lot and the controls are so damn fun to use. Normally I don't like sandbox games either... It's also the FIRST EA game I've ever bought :p LOL
