Don't do it Doesy!

You'll become addicted like my brother, and do very little else other than play that stupid game.

this really should be in pc gaming section...

You will end up getting hooked and become a super geek.

I play it. That's all you need to know, Jake.

i played it and never got REALLY addicted to it. I can only recall twice that i decided to play WoW over spending time with friends.

I dont know, im not really into mmorpgs.

12-11-2006, 02:07 PM
when one of my friends "clan leaders" called her one day to see when she was next coming online, that pretty much sealed the deal for me.

i will never play a mmorpg.

I can only recall twice that i decided to play WoW over spending time with friends.

i just can't imagine a situation where i would decide to stay in and play video games over see my friends...

12-11-2006, 03:58 PM

Druids FTW!

As for the game, unless you really dont like your current social life stay as far as possible. When my comp decided to stop working for like a month i was the most productive i have ever been. Then it started working again and i get back to WoW, and i have no life. Stay far away.

i woudlnt say it made me as unproductive as Counter-strike though. that game ruled my life from the christmas i got it, till when school started the following august.

2nd most addicting thing to me would be the multiplayer in halo 2. it ruined my summer. I never played the single player stuff, but i would be up till at least 2 AM every night playing online. i played for hours on end, and it completely screwed up my sleeping schedule.

12-11-2006, 06:37 PM
i played counterstrike once, everyone just bitched at me because i suck at it.

12-12-2006, 03:45 AM
i sucked at first, but eventually got okay at it. I never was 1337 :(

I need a cheap reccomended specification (64Mb) Graphic card.

12-12-2006, 10:19 AM
Get an old Geforce Card.

12-12-2006, 09:40 PM
is there any difference when playing on a mac or pc?
other than controls?

12-13-2006, 06:31 AM
Dunno, If I where going to play it would be on my mac. From my understanding on all blizzard games run the same on both platforms.

12-13-2006, 07:01 PM
its a good game. its not addicting. ive played it for a while and im not a geek and i have a social life im completely happy with.

I quit this game quite some time ago in favor of a 360 (more expensive overall, but meh). Basically, I would recommend at least a 128 mb video card. You can find a Geforce 4 dirt cheap these days. Also, you're going to need a gig of RAM. No getting around that. Well, its playable at 512 mb, but you really miss out on a lot.

12-13-2006, 09:09 PM
I'm getting a new stick of 512 so I'll be running on 760Mb.

And a mates hooking me up with a 128Mb Ge force for 150 - 200 dollars.

I became addicted to WoW since its release back in 04. It was my first "real" mmorpg to play, and I was very confused when I started, around a year later I was more expirienced and had several characters to play. The game is very addictive, specially once you begin to understand how each class plays and how everything around you works. However, the WoW community isn't all that great, its always a fight between raiders and casuals (iam one of those casuals) and the Blizzard costumer service needs some work. The game is great if you find good people to play with, sometimes its rewarding others it isn't. I would only recommend it if you have enough time to put into it, and can pay the monthly fee.

And now...more addiction with the expansion next week :P!

I just played for the first time today at my friend's house....I was hooked instantly. I can totally see this game getting extremely addicting. I'll have to watch myself - I don't want to lose my life to a computer game, heh.

I bought WoW a few days ago, but I don't have enough RAM to run it yet. Rather than updating though, I'm having my buddy build me an entirely new machine. This one is over 4 years old anyway...he says it'll be better off to upgrade to a 64 bit system. But I digress.

WoW is 73H R0X0RZ!!!!!!!111111!!!!!!!11!!!!!!!!!!!!1111111

I started playing like a week ago but I have yet to get addicted. Maybe it is because I am sort of ADD when it comes to managing what games I play.

01-22-2007, 06:15 AM
I just got WOW last week too. It's a really good game.

I play on Deathwing, Night Elf Hunter named Banock.

01-22-2007, 09:23 AM
WOW is great, if it weren't for it I would have never gotten to go to E3, lol. (Apparently the last videographer E-mpire sent skipped out on them to play WOW)

01-22-2007, 01:33 PM
i never really got addicted to where it was my life. i didnt think it was THAT entertaining.

01-22-2007, 01:36 PM
My highest char was 38, then I couldn't play for two weeks and my clan dropped me so I quit.

It was a good game, I had a level 60 Paladin with Tier 2 Judgement armor. I quit long ago though because it was on the road to control my free time. It was at the point where it was a second job sitting at the computer taking orders from someone on a microphone who I didnt care to listen to yelling if we failed on a mob.

The game is great for what it brings that other mmorpg's dont, its a very easy one to get into compared to games like FFXI which I thought were very difficult. Its just that end game instance raiding... if you dont have a casual guild for this sort of thing then you most likely in a guild with hardcores which for me killed my remaining time in the game.

Make love, not Warcraft.

01-22-2007, 09:48 PM
Once you get over half way to 60 it gets really dull..... so i quit and played eve instead.
