View Full Version : Make your own sensor bar! No wires, no batteries!
So it was recently revealed that the sensor bar was, in fact, nothing more than two infra-red lights, and that the wiimote did all of the sensing, rather than the other way around.
Well, what else do we have that emits infra-red light? Fire! In a dark room, two candles about a foot apart in front of the TV are enough to replace the sensor bar.

Doesn't seem safe or practical.
If you tape the "IR" infront of the Wiimote with gold duck tape, it works, too.

What happens when you change the distance between the two candles? I'm curious, so if someone could find out for me, that'd be great :)

the wiimote will probably think it's closer to the TV than it actually is.
