Actually, I beat the torture once. Then I saved, and loaded the save file I made just before Snake was captured. That stealth camo was too cool to miss :hugegrin:

I've never seen the 'bad' ending I think. I've only done the good ending where you and Meryl escape on the snowmobile into the sunset :)

So the bad ending is achieved by losing in the torture scenes? I could never do that (I'm pretty sure I have the infinite ammo and optical camo too)! I take pride in my button mashing capabilities. MGS2 extreme almost killed me a couple of times! :(

There's an exploit to always survive the torture... But I can't tell if it was 1, 2 or 3^^. You just hold the "choose weapon - R button" (can't tell if 1 or 2 from memory) before torture starts and keep it pressed right thru... You don't lose any stamina/energy...

I just had an idea of how Kojima could make a bunch of money.

After MGS4 launches he could have a special edition that has each and every game on the same Blu-ray disc optimized for the PS3. I'm not saying a next gen version of every game, but each game WITHOUT any backwards compatibility issues.

both endings have the snowmobile. but its eith Meryl or Otacon who rides on it with snake.

Basically when your being tortured by ocelot you have two choices:

Choice 1: endure and live through the test and dont give in. doing this will give you the ending where Meryl survives and she rides with Snake. Alos giving you the Bandana (infinaite ammo)

or

Choice 2: you give into the torture. Meryl dies at the end of the game and snake rides off with Otacon. (many 'happy' adventures ensue) and he gives you the stealth camo.

Slight update on the KojiPro events page since I last looked... They pushed their Leipzig update from the 20th to the 23rd (no surprise there), and it'll be featuring MGS4 & MGO (no surprise there either, but MGO footage/info will be great and MGS4 is ALWAYS great), and past Leipzig's have been home to great MGS presentations so this'll be one to keep an eye on. More gameplay info, possible story info, MGO stuff, etc.

Gonna be sweet! Also, don't forget that Kojima's birthday is on Friday, guys :-D

I like the bosses. They are a perfect example of boss characters in a Kojima universe. Why the surprise for some members? Since when did The End, Sorrow and Fear made sense for one to be baffled by Rage Mantis or whatever the names that are in MGS4. Pssssh, c'mon guys!

you're looking at Raging Raven, not Crying Wolf. Wolf is the four legged thing thats on the far right. and the wings look attachted to raven.

OK, that's it. This is the last time I post in this thread until MGS4 is released, and I will refrain from using the Internet for gaming news and boards a month before its release because that's the best way to ensure I have the best experience with it.

I don't care some of you think Kojima wants us to see all of the things we're going to see before MGS4 is unleashed. I've been sold on this game ever since it's been announced and even before we ever got to see anything about it, so there's no point for me to keep watching more of it when what I exactly want is to be surprised and not expecting anything in particular to have a fresh experience with it, just like when I resisted looking at all of the MGS3 media before I finally played it (and when I played MGS2, I hadn't ever heard about Raiden either). It was tough, but I did the same thing with some other games and movies and it happened that I was incredibly glad I did so in the end, because when I looked back at all the things that had been unveiled before their release, I felt I had done the right thing.

I'm just talking about my particular experience and I know it will be the best decision for my own joy and personal stimulus and excitement. I have nothing against those who want to know as much as they can about a particular title before its released, but I certainly don't want that and I've already seen a lot more than I could have needed to see. Yeah, I'm sure there's still a lot more to see, but some of that will be spoiled before I can play MGS4 and I prefer not to know about it before that.

Aside from having tentacles, I doubt it. He wouldn't just be put in a female body expendable boss character. And the lose ends with him and solidus but the laughing octopus is a woman, so...gender boundary, and...wouldn't make sense plot wise just to shoe horn him in that way. IT could be done but they'd do it better than that. The battle of Raiden and Solidus and all their lose ends as father and son were tied up at MGS. On the other hand, Liquid Snake and Ocelot refuse to die, which is kind of what sets Snake apart from Raiden. Raiden is a father, and has defeated his nemeses (and will probably finish off Vamp; Vamp seems like he has a death wish, and Raiden is a beast now). There's no reason to just bring solidus back.

Seems like they're combining themes from 1 and 3. Foxhound codenames plus emotions carried into battle.

Metal Gear man Hideo Kojima and his team have been talking PS3 rumble, Metal Gear Online as an MGS4 pack-in and an Xbox 360 version of his stealth baby.

Speaking in front of a packed forum at the Leipzig Games Convention, Kojima showed off the recently unveiled “Beauty and the Beast” enemy unit—monsters who were formerly human.

He also played through the same in-game demo that was featured weeks ago.

The more interesting details came during the Q&A session, where he addressed some of the gray-area issues surrounding Metal Gear Solid 4.

Responding to one question, the Kojima Productions team said that it’s possible that the recently announced Metal Gear Online, which runs on the MGS4 engine, would be included with MGS4.

“The thing we’re discussing is how much of that online version we should put in MGS4,” said producer Kenichiro Imaizumi.

The issue of PS3 rumble surfaced, as one attendee tried to get confirmation of rumble features in MGS4 (thus a confirmation of rumble adoption by Sony).

Imaizumi said, “We wish we could have rumble, but we don’t have those features with that controller. We wish we would. We’ll see what happens.”

Kojima drew a laugh from the audience when he added, “We have a guy who just works on rumble. Right now, he has nothing to do. I hope I can make use of him.”

Almost expectedly, someone asked about whether or not MGS4 might make an appearance on Xbox 360 in the future, or if it’s a PS3 exclusive forever.

Kojima didn’t comment on the question, instead passing it onto Imaizumi, whose carefully worded response also caused the audience to chuckle. “You know, right now we’re only making it for PS3. We don’t have a plan for Xbox 360 for now.”

The chat runs about twenty minutes — 8 of which is them saying how much they dig each other's games. Though, there is some grist towards the end when KP's Ryan Payton puts forth the PS3/Xbox 360 cross-platform question, asking if they like the rumors and speculation. While Patrice says he personally finds it "fun," Jade adds:



We want to make the best game possible that can be enjoyed by the most people possible. For us, its obviously a bigger challenge to ship simultaneously on both consoles, because they are not the same.
