Honestly, I can not get excited from those pics, even if I try.
Maybe they need to keep the detail level low beause of huge maps, they probably have some good reasons.
I think the outdoor scenery that you travel in the two year old HL2 looks more realistic than this, but there you have rather narrow map boundaries.
Maybe the game play will be great though, I don't know.

HL2 took 5 years to make for a "platform" that's been available for 25 years. And we are talking now about Koei vs. Valve as a developer. So I'm not wondering at all that not every PS3 release title is a showstopper.
I'm just happy to know that there will be few of them.

The only reason people are bothered about this game is because of how good the concept screens looked.
Well, when that's all there is to go on considering we know nothing of it yet, then I cannot see what's wrong with that. Perhaps you should reserve judgement until you actually play the game.
I should also add that the "concept screens" don't look quite as good as it does now IMO.

The bushes look a mess, a bit like PS2 rally games, also I'd like to have seen some motion blur around the edge of the screen like PGR3 to give a sense of speed.

Im bothered by this game because it is simply unimpressive regardless of the quality of the concept screens. The is a genre that definately hasnt had enough attention as of late and the sky was the limit for this title, but at this point i dont have any indication of quality just rehashed concepts with a sub-par paint job.

I'm not going to judge this game until I see it in motion/play it myself.
What doesn't look great in screenshots could still look good in motion. Just look at the speedo in the corner (399km/h) I can imagine the game will look alot different to this when your actually playing it.

For a release title, I think it will be a lot of fun. And at 399km/h, it's impressive...
This will be my first game for PS3! :)
This genre is rare, and I hope KOEI gets enough support to make Fatal Inertia II...
By then I will demand better grafics, but for now I settle for fun racing with cool weapons. ;)

These screenshots do look like a decent improvement. I have to say they don't look absolutely fantastically stunning, but I can see that a lot of work is being done to improve the game.
Also, I agree it does look fun. It's sorta like pod racing from Star Wars.

I think the obvious posters here on this thread should just not bother with any other argument than just repeat Gears of War, Gears of War........ I mean please. You accuse lots of posters on here of been fan-boys but hell. What does that make you. I really hope Gears of war turns out to be just another FPS that has nothing to go for it other than mediocre graphics. Lets face it if this game is all they have to shout about! Please. (Sh*t should not have said that now someones going to bang on about Halo 3)
Meanwhile whilst this game will probably not turn many heads on its release it is nice to see how much it has improved. Graphically. And that you cannot deny. Try to look at a screen from 6 months ago to the ones now.
Anyway we will see what it turns out like. We may all be surprised.

I think the highest score this one will receive is 6 and I expect it to be a 4. As all launch games in any console including xbox 360 there is always those that are crap and this one will be ps3's rotten egg. There will be AAA and there will be D's or F's thats natural.

I for one think it looks pretty good (not ground breaking but it does have good graphics) and as long as the gameplay is tight, will be picking it up at some point (after resistance and warhawk).

The mere fact that there is so much detail put into scenery that will be travelling at the speed of blur, i think this game is very beautifull in execution. People are very quick to downplay the PS3 these days i wonder why? Not only that but there reasoning is hardly thought out.

Kameo is one of my favourite 360 games, shush! :)
What's good about Kameo is like it's Ape Escape (multiple player modes) only with the graphics and physics way ramped up. Each Arena you go into there's a specific monster you have to turn into to solve the puzzles.
I really like Kameo. I think because it's feels like the games Rare used to make when they were really s**t hot, back in the SNES and N64 days, because it dates back to those days. It's great, if all 360 games were like this the PS3 could take a hike, really.
It's my game of the year so far, but FF12 and Okami haven't turned up yet. :)
I think I'll play it through again....

The same could be said about any console.
But anyways back to fatal inertia, Im sure that it will be a solid title but its doesnt stand out in a crowd in any way shape or form. I fully expect it to be lost in the deluge of games available at the time of its launch.

Yes precise(it dont stand out in the crowd), i think of it more like if i should buy candy to people i dont know. You fill the bag with a variation. Maybe this is someones niche, but like when you seen the movies and soo its the gameplay that matters. I actually when looking back thought some old racer titles , the starwars one and Quantum looks really good in comparison.
We have the "obligatory" nice looking water but thats on all of this new consoles,(Kameo for ex). I guess they feel obligated to have a Wipeout-Clone of some sort, like the candy-analogy :)

Personaly I wanted nothing to do with a 360 then one day in Walmart I told myself, 'what if everyone I know is wrong?'... and they were. :king:
Comparing the 360 to a Pc is a bad idea, PC is expensive and has always been so to stay on top of the games, for a personal example$300 for a video card (alone) to play Oblivion (still couldn't do HDR for Oblivion) or $400 for a 360 to play oblivion with HDR and Anti aliasing (not possible on computer at same time) and guaranteed to work :trismile: ....
And anyone who has played Dead Rising, or the demo for Lost Planet knows that the 360 is pretty solid and that the best is still arriving. Bullet witch, Enchanted Arms, Too Human, not to mention some sweet xbox live arcade games.

I did, i bought the Xcrate for one game, and it aint over hyped Halo either..either way..i learn my lesson, im not going to buy a system for only 1 game..its just not worth it.
Back to the topic, IMO Fatal Interia doesnt look great at all..the ship design is poor / lacking(spelling?), the idea is not new( i and many other had the same idea for ages). The execution of the game that reminds to be seen. Graphically speaking im not impress. It just going to be a average looking game with average gameplay.
