Is Prey worth getting?

Im a little hesitant towards buying Prey full price. 90 bucks (AU) is a fair bit of money, although if I were to get it I would trade in some old games and maybe get the price down to 60.

I liked the demo. Alot. But Im worried that they showed off all the good things so itll be alot more of the same... Is there enough variety throughout the game? Is the game lengthy?

Perhaps I should just wait till I see it for a little cheaper, unless you guys recommend it.

I don't know lol my PC can't run the thing. I've seen gameplay footage and it looks pretty good. Gamespot gave it a 7.5. Go to gamerankings.com and check out all the reviews. Here are the pros and cons of what GS said:

The Good: Great-looking graphics; occasional flashes of really interesting gameplay ideas.
The Bad: Lacks any challenge; aliens speak english and sound dumb doing so; action is overly straightforward.

Prey's campaign won't take too long, and it's rarely difficult, which makes it a solid choice if you're looking for an easy weekend romp. But much of the game's potential for unique thrills feels wasted by its straightforward level design, and the multiplayer doesn't add much to the package. Fans of the genre have probably played games better than Prey in the past, but the action and the environments you move through are interesting enough to make playing through the game worthwhile.

Basically wait until the price drops because this is like a 1-2 time run through then you forget about it and I doubt there will be any mods for this. You can also get it through unconventional contriversial ways ;-) but of course that isn't recommened....

got if for my b-day amazing fun... however be prepared to have ur eyes screwed over while playing the game there are so many shifts in perception during it that it makes u feel a tad ill.

I noticedd that whilst playing on the 360. Its on 84% at the min. Was gettting great speeds earlier but its slowed down now.

It's worth everything. If you have a midrange PC then go for it. Prey would be a mix of great story telling, refreshing FPS gameplay and IMO, quite possibly the best puzzles in an FPS so far.

I recommend this game 200%!

@Yoshaw, one of the reasons I want it is because my computer can handle at least the same grpahics as the 360.

I've got the 360 version but yeah. If you play it hard you'll bang through it in 3 days, but it's a good three days. Find em, finish em, ebay em...

Ok, this game is a bit fucked up. From what I can see in the game it looks like some guy who never got laid did alot of the designing work. So far in the game the are things on the ground, walls and ceilings shaped like ass-holes. And then there are things that look like pussies, and to back that up the enemies are pushed out from inside them.

I dunno bout you all but I dont wanna somebody to see me playin that shit, they will get the wrong idea in an instant.

Just recently played it for 360, Its alright but not worth 60 bones.
