We've seen hardware stolen by the truckload, and we've heard of people getting beaten to death with boxed PlayStation code, but now the gaming rage which threatens the very fabric of our society is getting out of hand.
Colorado newspaper The Summit Daily News has reported that a man was arrested for "using a Sony PlayStation as a weapon" during an argument with his room-mate. In an apparently drunken crime of frustration, the assailant (who gave police three different names when questioned) followed his prey, Ricardo Lopez, into the bathroom before surprising him with a vicious volley of blows to the head. He then used Sony's console to thwack Lopez upside the ribs. Ouch.
Though neither man would disclose exactly what caused the argument, TGN would like to think it was over a drunken game of PES3 that went to penalties against the run of play. Lopez should just count himself lucky he's not an Xbox owner, or else he'd have probably ended up with several broken ribs and a hefty concussion.
