I think it would be interesting to poll our members and see who supports the new name change of Nintendo's newest system.

Let's just say I hate it more than love it. Nintendo could've done better.

Those are the two very extremes. If I were to graph my opinion, the bell curve would be somewhat closer to 'Love it', because its not too bad.

Well it's either hate it or love it.
I hate when polls have 5 options to express yourself.

haha, fair enough. Id like to wait till the E3 conference when they are talking about it to see what its like when they actually speak about "Wii". I was talking to a friend about it, and when I told him it was called "Wii" i was like...'god damn it'. It isnt very conversation-friendly.
Hate it...I am at that very end of the spectrum, not a good name at all as far as im concerned, and have already heard a few people saying they're not buying the system as a result. Good job Nintendo.

Well I hate the name more than anyone, but i'm still buying the system. As long as the games kick ass it wouldn't bother me having a gay ass name for a system in my room.

I like it, but Nintendo was already in my pants so it makes no difference.

i think it will grow on people. i dont think its the best name, but i would say that its a creative name...more so than many other console names. I am sure if nintendo were to name it playstation(assuming sony didnt exist), it would be ridiculed for sounding kiddy too.

I think it flat out sucks. I don't think it will grow on me any either...over these past few days, the more I say to myself "They named their system Wii," the more I laugh my ass off. It's doing the opposite of growing on me.

What's in a name? Oh well, I think it's odd, but it will be cool no matter what its called in the end.

I'd like to see you create the exact same poll months from now just to see another set of trippin answers.

I don't hate it, they could have done better, but they could have done worse.
already heard a few people saying they're not buying the system as a result
stupidest thing i've ever heard.

^Theyll come round.
may be the stupidest thing you've ever heard, but its reality. I'm not one of these people, and I try to convince them that not buying something just because of a name is just dumb...and I am pretty pursuasive as people tend to respect me, but there are many people like that...and many other pursuasive people that will tell them not to buy the system. People are so concerned about what other people will think of them, it's a shame.

The system RULEZ, from what I have seen.
The name Wii is soooooooo LAME.
But a name does not make a system, so bring on the Wii wii....could not help myself....LOL...so lame.
And I'll NEVER "come around" to liking the name "Wii". It is lame, stupid, retarded, dumb, asinine, and just plain old crappy. So there, eat that "Wii" lovers.....

I'm gonna have to agree here. I'll come to accept the name in time, but I'll never really like it. I mean, Revolution was such a great name. The Rev. It just jived. I guess it's just mostly the let down.

I can live with it if I have to. But I much rather prefer the revolution.

I swear, as soon as I get it, I'm sandpapering Wii off of hte side of it and etching Rev on there.

I kinda liked the name at first, and now I really like it.
I've said 'Wii' in conversation a few times now, and the only difference between that and saying 'we' is that saying 'Wii' makes me smile a little.
And not because of stupid 'wee' jokes.
Those are not very funny at all.
Nor are they creative.
They are just very childish.
You people wanted Nintendo to lose their "kiddy" image and they are.
Now it's your turn.
...and have already heard a few people saying they're not buying the system as a result.
Those people are extraordinarily shallow.
They're cutting their noses off to spite their face.
That's all it amounts to.
...so bring on the Wii wii....could not help myself....LOL...so lame.
And I'll NEVER "come around" to liking the name "Wii". It is lame, stupid, retarded, dumb, asinine, and just plain old crappy.
What, like 'Wii Wii' jokes?

I don't have a problem with the name, but I'll click "Hate it" because I can see it becoming a total marketing failure. They're trying too hard to be the next "iPod"

I refuse to accept the name. I'm buying a Nintendo Revolution.

Must I say anything? I'm still holding out for it to be a marketing ploy. And wether you guys think it is stupid or not doesn't change that fact that if a name causes a significant people to not wanna buy something, that name needs to be changed.

I'm not sure what I should choose. I passionately hated the name, at first, but had got over that within the first twenty-four hours. On the other hand, I still don't love it, and don't know that I ever will. I don't see a middle-of-the-road option, and can't decide which way I marginally lean more to.

I hate it. The name makes me want to hide the system in a corner or something. I won't of course, but the name is just terrible. The fact that I will have to tell people that I'm going to go play with my Wii is something I'll always curse Nintendo for, especially in public.

Just say,
"I'm going to go play Nintendo" instead.
When you say "love it or hate it" are you refering to the console it's self or the consoles' name ? As for the console, I have, Not a single thing, against it. I think it's super sweeeet. As for the name ("Wii"). "I'm lovin' it" :) I really like the name. I mean, I can make soooo many joke with it. I guess you can say it stands out :)

Are you kidding!?!? Any excuse to talk about my Wii is a good thing. Imagine all the cheesey one liners we can use to pick up girl gamers with.
"Oh so you like Mario? Well why dont you come over and you can play with my Wii"
