I'll get into the details soon enough, but let me put it straight to you. If you own a PC or Xbox, get Max Payne 2: The Fall of Max Payne and have a blast. It's a stylish noir story told with an enviable amount of style and panache - and it absolutely teems with intense blasting action. If you own all three systems, just skip the PS2 version. Comparing them side by side will hurt your eyes, drop your jaw in disbelief, and make you genuinely wonder what the hell happened. Now, if you only own a PlayStation 2 and you love action games (and you dig action games with great stories) get this game or rent it, but be warned, it's inferior to its cousins in every way.

While the PS2 version basically features the same content as the original PC version, it's filled with terribly blurry, downright ugly textures and serious frame rate issues, and it's missing sound effects. It also has pretty lengthy loading times, and, worst of all, a completely messed-up save system, which requires you to manually save your progress from the game's options menu--an awkwardly slow process--or else you start all over from the very beginning of the game (or wherever it was you last saved) when you run out of health, rather than, say, from the beginning of the level you were on, as in other versions of Max Payne 2 or any other action game these days. As such, this particular version of what, at its core, is a stylish and intense shooter, loses much, if not most, of its appeal in translation and just can't be recommended in good conscience when two far superior versions of the game are already available for other platforms.

And the age of modern-day PC games coming to the PS2 shall slow to a trickle....... or they will simply continue to really suck compared to other versions. :D

People should just stop buying console versions of PC games, especially when gaming PCs are so inexpensive now.

Yeah I just borrowed MP2 from a friend...it's nice. The graphics blow, but it's a good game.

Haha, Dork you have 1337 posts...

Everyone hates the PS2 and thinks it's shit, but for some reason I see more in it now...and I want one. Quick, someone smack the shit outta me!
