Do any of you guys see a possiblity that Nintendo and Sega will become partners anytime soon? I mean, Nintendo tried to get Sonic to make an appearence on SSBM, and Sega wanted to have Sonic on SSBM as well.
Someone working for Sega, in an interview said "Wherever Nintendo goes, Sega follows." Yuji Naka himself said that if anyone were a Sonic fan, that they should buy a Gamecube.
I don't know, maybe someday Sega will become a 2nd party towards Nintendo.

Now that Sammy merged with Sega, it's doubtful anything other than a few exclusives will happen. SegaSammy becoming a 2nd party dev doesn't fit their long term strategy.
its been like.....3 years since that april fools joke was published and people still believe it? my god....

Nintendo never tried to get Sonic on SSBM, Sega tried. If Nintendo had wanted Sonic on SSBM Sonic would be on it.
In a press release from 2001 I belive Nintendo stated that they had policies that only exclusive or Nintendo owned properties would ever be allowed to make appearances in SuperSmashBrothers. That was said in Nintendo Power or on Nintendo.com (Can't remember exactly which source)
Some belive that is why Sega made Sonic titles exclusive until Heroes when they descided they'd be more profitable to go multi-platform. Sega-Nintendo collaborations are still hopefull remember F-Zero. But Sega will never go second party as long as Sammy ownes them.

It would be a better world for all of us if Nintendo and Sega did team up back then and Sammy had nothing to do with this... oh well *shrugs*

well, i think they'll do more things with the rev then they did with the cube. Like Nights might get remade to use the controller. maybe a 2d sonic that you make run up the loops. they will probaly work closer with nintendo this time, but not as a 2nd party. Sadly.

I want Sega and Nintendo to team up, but what Sega has done/is going to do with the GC, DS and Rev is awesome. Since Sega is hopping onto the Virtual Console thing, the Rev will not only be a new Nintendo system to me, but it will also be sorta like an Unofficial Dreamcast 2 one could say, especially if Sega shows alot of support for the system.
It would be cool at E3 Nintendo annouced "Hey, not only can you play every single Nintendo console and Sega Genesis using the Virtual Console, the Revolution's Cd drive can also read Saturn and Dreamcast games along with the Gamecube and Revolution games".
Here's to wishful thinking...

THere was a chance Nintendo and Sega might have happened, but like most people said, with the merger its not likely. However, Yuji's statement holds truth as the GC versions of sonic games sell the best. Just a funny thing i thought i would share, i was at Wal Mart looking for a game and (this was boxing week) a kid was looking for Sonic Adventure 2 battle for Xbox. it was funny cus he was screaming at his mom to help him find it in the bargain bin.

If Sega would team up with any of the big 3, it would be Nintendo. But it's incredibly unlikely that they ever will.
