Alright...
I needa go get a new Gamecube game for CHRISTMAS break.. (thats right I said it) and I want to know which ones are the best in each genre?

I wish Nintendo Gamecube had a good...sappy...funny...romancy RPG..... tsk tsk.

Please don't include Zelda or Mario.

I realize i'm double posting..but I can't edit cause this computer sucks (my sisters).

I've also been in a nostalgia type mood. I want games that were just...snes or nes-esque. So...maybe some good GBA games I could throw on my player?

Tales of Symphonia is a good investment. Fire Emblem is a good game if you are into strategy RPGs.

Pro A.

Metroid Prime is still the gold standard for the GCN. RE4 is another fine choice, as well. Eternal Darkness is also good for a run-around if you're looking for something weird.

what games do you have right now?

I have a mixture of all games. I'm a SNES guy...so they dont reflect enough of me and myself as a gamer.

I have Phantasy Star Online 1 and 2, Mario Sunshine. Mario Baseball, Mario Party 5 and 7, Super Monkey Ball 2, Metroid (although, its in VA), FZERO, SpiderMan (again in VA and I'll prolly never get my VA games back), GBA Player, DDR Mario Mix, Windwaker,

I know theres another one there somewhere..but im not home until tomorrow...

I have a shitty selection of games...

Agreed. I also just finished Killer7. That was great, I thought. And I think it's discounted now too. Maybe $19? Although that isn't really SNES or NES like.

Paper Mario? It's not really difficult though, no real challenge to it, but it is fun. Good for a mario RPG.

Although I would go with Tales of Symphonia.

^That game is about as UN-NES/SNES-like as possible. But if you want a really "artistic" game with a lot of deep meaning and political metaphors, Killer7 would be the way to go.

Oh, and I realize you said omit Mario games, but Paper Mario: Thousand Year Door was a great comical, fun RPG.

Edit: Deadcell, you got in the way of my post (and stole the subject, too).

I was actually thinking more omit zelda.... because i own Zelda and Mario Sunshine...

Baiten Kaitos (or however its spelled) I know nothing about.
Killer 7 doth look beautiful...which I like.
Mario RPG was pretty simple... and that was fun...I'm thinking about Paper Mario 2..
Tales Of Symphonia is cheap and everyone is recommending it...so I'll prolly get that too no matter what.

Any others to throw in the mix? Well, Besides RE:4 which i plan on sometime n e ways..

Thanks, too.

One game that I always recommend is Metal Arms: Glitch in the System. The game is a must play.

I did love Killer7. But good luck finding for Gamecube. It seems like they cranked out way more of the crappy PS2 port.

I'd go with Paper... oh, never mind.

Any of the Prince of Persia games rule, Sands of Time is real cheap nowadays too.

i found kiler 7 easy

my game magazine brags non stop about spartan total warrior.

if myou want a good story tho itl have to be baten or skies, i know ive said that alreadty, talkes aswell but its my least fav of the 3, despite having as great combat system.

in baten you take control of a spirit who giudes the main character. its a 40 odd hour adventure, very very fast starting. Involved battle system. the scenery and music is beautiful. The story is very deep with a lot of twists, some obvious but others are pure gold. I think if the vouce acting wasnt so poor in some cases it would have gotten a much better score.

Personally if you want good games, go with Resident Evil 4, Fire Emblem, Baten Kaitos (a card based RPG but its the best on GCN) Tales of Symphonia (very good rpg) and lots more..... Pikmin 2 is a great game too.

Seriously, GC has the best games and the most fun in my opinion.

Wow...

Obviously, it could be polished a lot...but graphically... it's just...a beautiful game (Symphonia).

I played only for two or three hours thusfar, but basically because it was late and I was hungry (i'm trying to lose weight..and won't eat after 9:00pm on nights that I stay up late. It was 3:am or something.

I almost wanted to tear up at parts! OMG.

Well, I thank those of you. I'm just in the Desert now...so maybe I'm a little slow...but not tooo bad.

I'm still gonna look at the other games...Def. Killer 7 and RE:4.... i dont know bout Pikmin... and then...i want Paper Mario...

Paper Mario is a great game to get and PikMin 1 is great. Im also sure PiKmin 2 will be just as good as the first game. I still need to play the second game because i loved the first one.

i know you said you plan to play re4

but that game should seriously be your number 1 pick to buy. People who are old enough or dont mind a couple scares and own gamecubes should definatly own that game.

paper mario's a good one.

i plan to buy that and killer 7 off ebay some time.

but yeah, good to see your enjoying the game you picked up.
