View Full Version : Animal Crossing: WW in Nintendo Power (Scans-56k warning!)

The latest issue of Nintendo Power was all about Wi-Fi, and included a variety of articles which highlighted Animal Crossing: Wild World, since apparently NP already has the retail build of the game. I tried to scan as many of the related articles as possible, but I didn't want to wrestle with my dad's multi-function scanner from hell, so most of the pictures are a. huge, both in file size and dimension size, and b. low quality, as the scanner I was using took about 7 minutes per page to scan anything with a reasonable resolution. Because of this, most of the small text is barely readable, but hopefully you'll still be able to make it out. I'll be adding more and more chunks of articles as I finish formatting them at least a little better.

Next time you should just compile a single pdf.

but that would be a lot of work. plus, i have no idea how to do that. what i really need is my own scanner that doesn't suck.

I think you would just save them as PDFs and put it together like you would put stuff together in Word.

it got a 9.5, which doesnt say much so far since it is from nintendo power.

Don't worry, more trustable reviewers have given similar scores.

I guess that's what happens when I link to a thread on GameFAQs...

Actually Nintendo Power seems to have totally different scores than most reviewers in the issue. IGN gave the Narnia game an 8.3 making it sound like a game I would actually buy, and NP gave it a 5.5 bashing it for how fails like other EA titles such as LotR. IGN gave Shadow the Hedgehog a 4.9 saying how much crap it is to hell, and NP gave it an 8.0 making it sound like a fun Sonic game that you should check out. I'm kind of leaning towards NP's scores mainly because they seemed to mention things (like the Narnia game) that right off the top of my head I know I would hate. IGN didn't warn me about LotR:RotK's feature about not having your character run towards the screen which sucked and there was a level where it was a bitch since you had to run towards the screen and you only could walk. I never beat that level at all.

Hey, IGN game Mario Kart a 9.5, but NP opnly gave it a 9. they're not nearly as biased for nintendo games as they have been in the past.

10 / 10 / 9 / 10 i believe. or was it 9 / 9 / 10 / 9?

edit: yeah, it was 9/9/10/9.

Are you talking about MKDS? Famitsu gave ACWW 10,10,10,9 I'm pretty sure.

Now, I'm not doubting you, but... http://www.gamestats.com/objects/682/682878/articles.html

What's this?

edit: I've been looking around and finding many more sites corroborating the 37/40. However, I'm just confused by gamestats. Damn IGN, always tricking me.

Perhaps I'll pick up Animal Crossing, if its anything like Harvest Moon I think I'll have a good time with it.

I might buy Animal Crossing because it just seems like it would be a lot of fun to play. I think it would be fun to play it online also.

I have never seen or played Animal Crossing. Does anyone care to explain to me what's so awesome about it because I'd be more than glad to add that game to my library when it comes out. In fact, I have no idea what it's about...anybody care to help me out? I couldn't read any of those pictures' text.

If anyone tried to explain why it's so awesome, they would do the opposite and make the game sound retarded. You have to play it to get a feel for what it is.

Kind of like Katamari Damacy and Wario Ware.

I can't believe that this article has actually made me want this game more! I didn't even realize that was possible. I'm going to fail college :( Maybe they're throw in a college thing in the next Animal Crossing and I can do it there since AC is going to make me fail in real life.

I love Katamari Damacy too, I want the DS version!

I'll second that. Everyone I know who has only briefly seen the game or has only heard about it thinks it looks or sounds stupid. You have to play it for 20 minutes, and then you'll know how amazing it actually is.

His parents were well off and bought him each console. The Gamecube still held the highest place in his mind.
