Word on the street is that there are no programs at the moment that utilise a dual core processor. (I dont know if this is true, but its just what I heard). So I was looking around on the internet and I ended up at the Gamefaqs website, searching the message boards and stumbled accross a thread about how Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion will be able to take advantage of this.

Since my computer has a dual 3.2Ghz processor in it, I was wondering if the game would run a hell of alot (or at least somewhat) faster on my computer.

But first, does anyone know if this game does use dual core? (Apparently, because its being made for Xbox360, which is tri core (multithread?) or whatever, any computer with a dual core can use that to lift the load of some of the work and make it run faster. I know my computer wont be able to play it at the same graphics as the xbox360 version, but I was hoping that I could get rather close-ish.

Any ideas?

I don't think any games at the moment use dual core I thought the first was going to be UT2k7. Although yes Oblivion has been delayed, probably to add tri CPU support for the 360 version and in the process they may add dual CPU support in the PC area.

Also you dual core runs taks in the Background like I have Windows Volume controll, MSI CORE Temp, Zone Alarm and AVG AntiVirus all taking clock cycles away from my single core CPU (AMD Athlon 64 3200+)

Also what do you have Pentium D or Athlon X2? or other?

Also oblivion should run great on your processor It will be all about your GFX card (which is an X700? is it not?) you should be able to play oblivion well though If you wan't 360 GFX you'll need a $750 Geforce 7800GTX (which is crazy since the 360 will be cheaper lol)
