A lot of you probably know me from the Nintendo Forums, and I am just starting to take a few steps into the unknown: The Sony And MS forums...
Anyhow, I am sending a message out to all those 360 lovers with this thread. I am EXTREMELY skeptical about the 360. My views may be biased, so I came to these forums to clerify them.
First off, I've heard some people who have played the 360 and were dissapointed. It was just an Xbox with slightly better graphics and nothing else. They also said the demos were lackluster. I know, these are all early examples of games but still.
Secondly, from what I know the controller isn't much different than the Xbox, and there isn't much difference between the two except for graphics and the hardrive. I, myself, am not fascinated by any of those things, and I was wondering if any of you out there are.
If you mind clearing some of these things up, please do, just don't flame me for being stupid and idiotic. I just dont see why you'd be willing to drop top dollar for the console.
Thanks for reading.

I know my reasons are more personal than anything else so let us begin.
Last gen I was lucky enough to be able to afford all 3 of the systems. For me personally I got the cube first the ps2 second and the xbox lastly.
I got tired w/the PS2 first
The cube I had fun with...but for me gaming is more of a multiplayer gig. Smash Bros Melee got old fast for me and my friends. Honstly I did have fun w/the cube but at the end of the day I wanted more. (i had more fun w/the Dreamcast than the cube)
Xbox multiplayer perfection imo. Out of all the current gen systems I enjoyed the Xbox the most.
From what I know of the 360 it will be "more of the same" However thats exactly what I want. I want kickass multiplayer games, a great online service, i want multimedia functions.
So why should I look anywhere else? I'm confident that the PS3 will be an amazing machine. I expect great things from it...but going from last gen I wasn't a big ps2 fan...so i won't be getting a PS3.
I'm sure the rev will be a good machine. However I'm not sold.

this is my thought:
Wait till May/June of next year. If by then nothing about the 360 looks "good" to you then make your judgement.
I've been waiting 6 years for perfect Dark Zero, that is one of the reasons.

From what I have played personally at wal-mart, it looks alot better then xbox. Of course these are also first gen games, they arent going to look as amazing as some of the videos you have seen for games coming out next year etc. But I played king kong and call of duty 2 and was impressed by both. The sound is amazing aswell, big improvement. The controller is basically the same except it is very light. Also it seems to mold to your hands better.

I have made the decision to get the 360 on launch because the 360 offers me the games that I want. MMO's, FPS, and sports games. Those are the games I seem to enjoy the most.
Last gen I only had a GC and I was happy and all but I felt left out on the online thing. And later really felt leftout when it came to 3rd party games. Nintendo seems to have lost a major amount of 3rd party games which is never good.
I really like the idea of always HD gaming with 4xAA. I have a HD LCD tv and would love to take advantage of this. Another thing I noticed is that the controller has been redone from what I have read and is now smaller. Thats definitly good news. The 360 is an awesome media center, I really look forward to using the console for more then just games.
Those are some of the things that I could think of off the top of my head. Oh yeah, and another thing is that I live in North America and Microsoft is a North American company, that means I will not have to wait like 6 months for games that I want to be released here. We get them first and I'm happier supporting a North American company.
I'm getting the 360 because of the games and xbox live. The graphics i don't really care all that much about they look good enough for me. I really want games like PD0 and Oblivion so its all good for me. Actually most of the launch games for the 360 look good to me.

i have always been back and forth with the 360, but alas i finally decided not to get it. I simply cannot afford it with college in the way. I am trying to stay as far away from debt as possible. Plus my computer can push out graphics comparable to 360 as you can seehere (http://forums.e-mpire.com/showthread.php?t=47421).
And on top of that, my grades are not too well, so having a new xbox would just make them worse.
but even then, i cant imagine buying a console for $400.

Ok, I guess your right. Even if it does end up being great, I wont be able to afford it. I took a gamble with the DS and I am enjoying that much more than the PSP's I've played, so I'll take the risks a step further and purchase the rev.

Well, if you can't afford it, then I feel sorry for you.
Get a job. Save your allowance. Have a birthday. Sell some shit. Whore yourself out. Work for your wants.
If you don't have enough drive to work a little bit and save up for a 360, then you don't deserve to have one that much.
But I can promise you, in a year, you will have your regrets.

I have my 360 already paid off, and in about 3 weeks I will go in and buy a second controller and some games to make sure I have something to play. :)
