I have started to lose all faith in ps2. One of my friends ps2 just stoped working. He then bought a used ps2 from gamecrazy and in like a month it stoped working too. I thought that was just because he played it 24/7. But when i think about it, i had my regular playstation for like 3 years and I used to play it all the time and it still works like a charm. I had my 64 for like4 or 5 years and it work fine too. Is sony making systems crapyer or am i just losing my mind?

Rumors say that Sony is using cheap old technology in their PS2 systems... Hopefully, that won't happen with the PlayStation 3.

Good thing Nintendo remains so faithful to the video game industry, their systems hardly ever malfunction!

My friend's PS2's motor is weak. While changing chapters playing back DVDs, the thing freezes for like two seconds. Now it's a hit or miss chance of loading games...

yeah, i have a rich bastard friend that is on his third one. Im not even on my first. One of his just kinda made a weird noise so he bought a new one, then i asked him for his other one and he said it would cost fiddy bucks. Supid bastard. I'm on my first...only thing i had to change was the controller (100% in GT3, it lasted me a long time after that too), no probs with the DVD or games.

My Ps2 just freaking died on me today.It Makes a weird "Click" Noise while its loading the game, and it keeps doing it, and although this has been happening for a while, today it reached a climax and The game wont load thus leaving me on the Browser screen.

thats the exact same thing my friends did except his made a weird clicking sound when he turned it on. It dies after a couple of weeks doing that.

I don't think we can pass judgement on the Gamecube yet, as it hasn't even had it's first anniversary yet...PS2 is almost two years old i believe...

AHAHAHA glad i dont own a PS2..... LMAO i never thought i would hear people CASUALLY saying that they are on their third PS2! Especially if you didnt get a warranty on it for the 2nd one, you must have some kind of mental defect. Im not bashing the PS2, because i already know it has many great games that I like to play at my friends houses, but thats just ridiculous that people are on their 3rd PS2 and act like its nothing.

Yeah..... November 18th I believe. Same day Metroid Prime was released.
