Sony will drop the price of their PS2 console in a few short weeks. Plus new bundles!

Sony announced today that they will be dropping the price of their hit console, PS2, by £30 to £139. The price cut is scheduled to take affect on October 1st, 2003. The limited edition silver PS2 will also receive a price cut, dropping to £149.

These price drops are in addition to the bundles that Sony has previously announced such as limited edition Prince Of Persia pack, an Eye Toy/Eye Toy Groove pack and possibly a GTA Vice City/Pro Evolution Soccer 2 pack.

Although Nintendo has claimed to not be planning to drop the price of the GameCube, news of the price still persists. Rumor has it that Nintendo will drop the GameCube to £79.99 and also offer a Mario Kart DD bundle for £99. We'll have to wait to see about that one.

Meanwhile, Microsoft has said they will leave their Xbox priced at £129.99 for now, while offering bundles instead. As reported, Microsoft will offer a Halo/Midtown Madness 3 bundle at £149.99, as well as an Xbox Live bundle.

Europe and Canada get the best bundles, because companies aren't allowed to bundle "M" rated games in the US (hence the reason there is an Xbox bundle with Halo in Canada but not the US).

Yeah American bundles could be better.

GC needs to drop it's price in Europe ASAP.
