Critically Acclaimed Star Wars Role Playing Game for Xbox Will Feature Downloadable Content Through Xbox Live in Winter 2003

SAN RAFAEL, Calif. – July 9, 2003 – LucasArts today announced Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, a role playing game (RPG) for the Xbox™ video game system from Microsoft, has gone gold and will be available at retail throughout the United States and Canada Wednesday, July 16.

One of this year's most eagerly anticipated titles, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic was recently named the number one game in Electronic Gaming Monthly's Top 20 Summer Games feature. In addition, Official Xbox Magazine called Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic an "instant classic," and the game received a perfect score in the forthcoming September issue of GMR.

LucasArts also announced that in Winter 2003 it expects to make available to Xbox Live subscribers downloadable content for Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic. Featured will be a variety of new weapons and other items to assist players on in-game quests.

Developed by BioWare, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic features an original story set some 4,000 years prior to the timeframe of the Star Wars films in an era dominated by an epic conflict between the Jedi and the evil Sith.

I'm not much of a Star Wars freak, but I'll definitely be getting this one. I've only heard positive things about the E3 demo and stuff.

I am not really into RPGs, and totally not into star wars....so its a pass for me...but its good for the good ole' green box :D

I'm probably not gonna buy it right away, because I've got F-ZERO, Soul Calibur 2, and a GBA SP to buy soon. But, by the end of the year, I should have it :D

I am not sure, but I think it doesnt. However, it may feature some content download.

Star Wars Galaxies is the one that features online play.

you may... and the three charachters in my sig are the three most popular by general consencus on each cosole thats why i chose them, not necisarily cause i like them... cause i dont like gta and im not a big fan of halo i love mario though all of the mario games aree cool, except sunshine IMO

clone wars is fully online for xbox... online play, downloadable content, the works.

anyway i picked up the game today but havent had a chance to play it... the box looks cool tho lol.... a downside to it is that yuo cant name members of your team :( i was gonna name my wookie bob

I saw a commercial for the game last night like 5 times while watching tnn. Damm the game looked sweet, being able to carry two lightsabers, thats bad ass.

it also is kinda wrong cause his lightsaber is really close to his :x and then it suddenly turns red...

I beat the game today on the light side after 29 hours of play. Going to beat it on the dark side now.

same here, i think my final time was like 21 hours, i beat almost all side quests.

i started a dark side with a scoundrel, they suck they have like no VP and suck with melee weapons (my love)

I think its better then the movies, the story is so bad ass and unexpected. Also fun gameplay.
