For all those Age of Empire fans out there, the demo of the upcoming Age of Empires game (being released this fall for 50 dollars) (and if you haven't heard you can get an AOE bundle that comes with AOE three, a poster, DVD, and book for only twenty dollars more), is out! Have to register to download from file planet, but hey, its well worth it. Only two maps and two civs, britains and spanish. I won't ruin it too much. Try it out yourself!

Sorry win2000 users, XP only...

You can also download the demo from the AOE3 website without registering and its faster. The demo was pretty cool but I can't say that I will be buying this game. I loved the first games but its kind of lost it appeal now so yeah I probably won't buy it.

I quite enjoyed this demo to be honest, they've remember that "if it ain't broke, don't fix it", but the thing about all the screenshots we've been given is that they've been taken from a zoomed-out perspective, so we haven't really had a chance to see the hideous low-poly models. But, apart from this, the textures on the buildings and the enviroment are great, water reflections do it for me and the physics turn me on.

I love the AOE series, and I will be adding this one to my list!

The demo was so boring, there's no point in having this game 3D.

i liked it, except for one problem.

did anyone else find it difficult to move across the map smoothly? It got on my nerves, and is enough for me not to buy the game.

I liked the demo, although my crappy integrated video card did not.

My integrated video handled it alright, but I can tell that it should look much better, I aim to get a video card in the near future, then maybe I'll actually buy the game instead of being all eye-patch about it. ;)

Well, I grabbed it, and so far have only played the tutorial. I am kinda liking the new Home City thing and the "cards" that you can use to ship supplies, armies, etc...

But I still really happy about Civ IV next week. Now thats game will take some serious life away. I guess I will have to split time between this, Civ, and DoD Source.
