Ok... The other day I was watching T.V. and saw this commercial about an "educational game". Where you have to spell words and do math problems to win. So I was thinking..... Would you ever play Zelda if it was educational ? I mean to beat Ganon, you'd have to spell and do math problems. Would you still play it ????

I sure would. I love the Zelda storyline and setting soo much... I wouldn't care.

P.S. I know this is a stupid question... but just asking to see who is 100% a Zelda fan :)

I would think a 100% Zelda fan would loath a game that so horribly deviates from the normal Zelda game.

Educational games are something Mario and Luigi got away with, if only barely, but I wouldn't even acknowledge the existance of an educational Zelda game.

I believe they already made an educational zelda game a few years back!

Theres a good reason you've never heard of it.

God no.

Hearing that, in order to beat Ganondorf, you have to solve a complicated algebra question, would be enough for me to utterly ignore it for years to come.

Not that I hate algebra or anything.

^^ LOL.

Seriously, I wouldn't even touch such a game.

I am also a HUGE Mario fan, and no matter what, you'd never get me to play Mario is Missing, Mario Time Machine, or any of the gay Microprose Mario games that were made for Snes and Pc.

As far-fetched a thought as you have presented, I'd ask if anyone would have sex if in order to process from one move to another, you'd have to answer a series of questions asked by the girl. Sure, the challenge sounds like a turn on, but wait until you're half way thru, and you got screwed because you're too horny to remember who came up with the Relativity theory.

All games are accidentally educational when not intended to be educational. Lets say we can find books dropped on the ground, in a library, someones house, etc and they talk about armor and ways they made armor along disadvantages and advantages of the armor using real life facts or something like samurai armor then that would be acceptable right there. The goal to educated is not appealing to me but the goal to have fun but intentionally educate the player does.

I ask you what kind of an introduction for a thread do you call this?!
Would you play Zelda if.....
"Ok... The other day I was watching T.V. and saw this commercial about an "educ"
WTF!? I had to click on the thread topic just to read what it was about.
I would not play the game, no. Unless it was rated AO.

Upon reading the thread title, flashbacks to my childhood were uncovered.

Specifically,

Would you play Zelda in a house?
Would you play Zelda with a mouse?
Would you play Zelda in a box?
Would you play Zelda with a fox?

I have nothing else to contribute other than the loss of my sanity.

That was VERY fun.

But I'm sorry. I didn't know people disliked educational games. I mean when you look at it..... I leaerned ALOT from "Broken Sword". I leared about poets... about the past...... About different and new places.... About picking locks...... and ALOT of jokes !!!!! Learning isn't all that bad.

Hey, don't be knockin' Mario's Time Machine! That was my favorite game as a kid (behind Math Blaster.. another learning game - sorry my parents hated real games). :shifty:

But honestly, no I would never play a Zelda game like that. I think the storyline for most of the Zelda games are pretty good (but not as deep as true RPGs), but the major attraction to the games for me is solving logic puzzles, not answering math questions.

I myself wouldn't mind playing a good point 'n click every now and then.

YES !!!! 100% RIGHT !!!! Does GTA teach you about gun's, cars, hyjacking..... So do Tom Clancy's games..... I know the names of all the guns by heart.

^Alright then. Tell my right now how to load all of those guns. Once your done with that, tell me the size of the bullets they use, the accuracy from 10ft, 50ft, 100ft and 200ft.

I'd also like to no the best way of unlocking a door from the outside without keys, the fastest way to crack an ignition and what has to be connected to start the engine.

Thanks!

basically, a zelda game like that, would not be a zelda game as far as im concerned, and you do learn stuff from zelda games, or at least i have in the past...at least it has puzzles to make you think

How to load them..... I only know how to load a few guns. Which I learned on my fathers base...... In the game is as easy as in real life to put them together.

The ak-47 has a 7.62 size bullet. The M-16 has a 5.56... and the P-99 (the one I have :) ) is a 6mm.

Accuracy ? If it's under 300 feet..... to me.... It's not even concidered a gun.

How to pick locks ? In real life ? Hahahaha.... I can tell you... Every key is designed so once it goes in the key hole it makes a perfect line with the little tubes inside the key hole..... If you can pick these tubes, get them loose enought to fall... they'd be in a perfect line. Which should allow you to open the door.... Is me saying this even llegal ??

And yes.... I know how to hot wire a car :P But I get your point... No, I didn't learn this from a game. But I did leaern about some GREAT poets.... and chicks dig poetic people :P
