I don't think the backlight was on....... but if it was, yeah it is really poor.

Nice screens speedis 8) Looks like the DS's screens are crap. I can barely see the screen. I understand if the backlight isn't on but if it is then it sucks.

No question the PSP, blows the DS away in terms of screen quality/clarity.

Definately looks like the PSP has a brighter screen, more clear picture, and a MUCH wider viewing angle. Anyone know what brand of LCDs the PSP and DS are using?

Wow, Sharp makes those Aquos LCDs dont they? Arent they reaaally good? Where did you find that info btw?

Also, I dont think the DS has a backlit screen. For one, it would be brighter. Number two, I turned my DS to the side and saw a light shining from underneath where the screen ends. I then looked at my PDAs screen(which is backlit) and it had no such thing. Either Nintendo is lying and the DS has no backlit screen, but a sidelit one, or else they are cheap brats who wanna make a hundred dollars per system(exagerating(SP?))

ok ok i give up ill buy both its so cool i saw that weak ass ds color it sucks id rather have black so i might get both first the ds then psp

the ds screen is back lit but it is a little weaker remeber the sorry battery saving stuff thats why.

also sony just always put their screens bright quality they make Lcd tvs

ps. the ds color is not what i expected it looks like that plastic you would find on the baby toys or something

the SP and DS is more of an "internal light" its nut under the screen its just kinda there shinning on the screen..like on the SP the light it as the top of the screen and the lower screen is darker then the top...well on my SP it is. plus today i played another DS..this time in Toys R Us..i realized how much easier it is to use it in the store because its like attached to the wall and held up. So i could use the stylus(which wasnt the nintedo stylus its was this normal sized good one) like usually the DS would make my left wrist hurt from holding it in one hand and what not..so yea..
