Ports are bad... umkay?
Ports are bad... umkay?
Tekken 3 and 4 are wonderful games and their presence would grace any console, imho.
Add multiplayer features to Tekken 4... add a new bonus mode... :D

what is with people? all they want are ports but then they complain about ports. look you want a new game. a new game is always better...ports are boring and it gives you no incentive to play through the whole thing because you know the ending.

calm down bro lol
its not like a fighting game port would be much different from a non port of the same fighting game. but if it were a adventure game with alot of story, i could see your point.

im jsut saying all games period not tekken. Like i remeber people are like " i want a FFVII port!" blah blah blah...its like if your really that great of a fan you would of beaten it already and wanting something more and new.

I see your point but games aren't something you just play through once and throw away. I have beaten Tekken 3 but I would buy a PSP port just so I can enjoy it when I'm out and about.

I certainly won't complain about ports. Sony, (to my surprise) are really pushing the PSP as an original console with no PS2 ports. Well done Sony btw :)
You obviously don't want any ports whatsoever but I won't mind if Sony port a selection of great PS2 games :D
(e.g. Tekken 4, MGS2)
Plus you have to remember not everyone owns a PS2. I'm sure there will be plenty of XBOX owners for which the PSP will be their first Sony console. Could you really deprive them of MGS2?
Merry Christmas anyone reading this thread!!

Well, from what I understand, Namco is more interested in supporting the DS (http://ds.ign.com/articles/569/569880p1.html?fromint=1). They've already promised XenoSaga for the DS and Ace Combat Advance for the GBA. For the PSP, all we know is that Namco's planning a Ridge Racer (Of course.), a game in the Tales series, and a retro-compilation.

It's a shame, though - Namco makes some pretty solid products. It would have been nice to go for the "middle-of-the-road" strategy, but, overall, they've done very well with the GBA crowd. Therefore, it would make sense if Namco stuck with the Nintendo route. However, from what I understand, Ridge Racer seems to be one of the most-wanted PSP launch titles, so maybe Namco will consider increasing their PSP line-up as time goes on. However, maybe I'm reading too much into IGN's article - After all, there are no statements from Namco in it. At the most, the article announces the new, larger handheld division of the company. Therefore, it's more realistic to assume that Namco has plans to support both handhelds.

When sony first announced the psp. Namco said that they will aggresively develop for the psp, and we only got one title. it looks like they love inferior catridges to UMD's. If they stick with the DS, we will just see arcade bucthered games on the DS, like tekken advance, due to cartridge limitations.
