Will we be seeing any PS1 games for the PSP?
Sorry if this has been discussed earlier.
I would really like to see FF7/8/9 on the PSP. Along with other titles such as, Tomba! to name one.
Personally, I would think, that if SQ/EN can release a 3 in 1 for FF 7/8/9, they would cash in big, with just the FF fans.

Why play it on a handheld? RPGs and adventures are always better on the big screen, most PSP games seem to be arcade titles.

I personally don't like playing RPG's on handhelds, but we've still got games like Tales of Eternia for the PSP.
As for PSOne ports, I'm not sure. I suppose that if they were to release the previous FF games on the PSP, they would sell well. I'm just not sure if they will or not.

I dont know ... for me, an RPG dosn't really need to be played on a large screen.
The way an RPG game evolves, it really requires a lot of time; what better way utalising that time with a portable that is with you everywhere, no?

you could look at it another way and say handhelds are meant for short snippets of playing, so rpgs wont work well
True, though the GBA has given us a very popular RPG, Golden Sun.

Handhelds are not meant for short snippets of playing :p
Hell, my first system was a GB! followed by a Game Gear. What can I say, I have a thing for portable gaming.
One of the first RPG's I played on GB, a weird little game called "Great Greed" by Namco :p
Although not an RPG exactly, but Zelda was huge on GB....

i dont think handhelds in everyday use are meant for long sessions of play, more to fill time when youve got nothing to do

You may think that, but there are plenty of people who like to play it for long amounts of time, GD|eNSo being one of them.

I understand your view, but trust me handhelds can easily be used as a longterm playing device, rather then just a filler. Just ask the GB fanatics, which there are tons.
A common view is that for great gaming, you need a pristine TV, with surround sound to enjoy a game ... which is not true ... well, for some.
I guess you would understand when PSP comes out, and the amount of time people would be spending on it.
