During the conference, SCE presented an innovative translation program for the PSP called Talkman. Currently in development, Talkman will be able to interpret nine different languages with voice output. SCEI will release Talkman simultaneously with the PSP’s launch in Japan.

and that graph I posted above just states that the psp is on track for the japanese release and american launch.
the graph also points out that the ps3 will be shown before e3 and fully shown at e3 on display at the play floor. (just like this year with the psp)

this graph also shows that the manufacture costs of umd (umd disc, packaging, papers etc) would be around the same cost as a regular dvd.
which means it'll be cheaper to manufacture than a gba cart (seriously!)

PSP games come in transparent white Amaray cases similar to PS2, Xbox, Gamecube and PC games and DVD videos.

in regards to the graph, it says FY2004... doesn't that stand for fiscal year? and doesn't the fiscal year end around march or so? so according to the graph the psp will launch in Japan at the end of 2004 or so and in the 1Q 2005 in America and Europe

Depends where you are really. The Euro release is set for March, which is the final month of Q1.

I just realized how darn big those frekin' awsome screens are!!!
I'm so frekin' hyped for Tales of Eternai... It's gonna be awsome! Although I'd miss being able to play 2 player simultanously like on the actual PS... oh well.

Well both are below the GT4 Mobile case, and I'd reckon that it'd need two UMDs to fit the whole game on.

Yes they probably will cus the game is so large... Thats probably why there are 6 UMD's and 5 games.

It will probably be like that but just modified a bit so that it fits how the game is played.

annoying thing about MGS twin snakes it had no overlap if u no what i mean so if u made a slight mistake and went thru the door u had tp change discs then change back again, i hope that sorta thing doesnt happen it gt4

They'll probably just do something similar to what they did with the PS1 disk changing.

Couldn't they do what GT2 did and have Arcade mode on one disk and Gran Turismo mode on the other? That way you only need to swap disks if you want to, say, use a car from your GT Mode garage in Arcade mode... and that's about it.
It worked out fine back then.
Back to the pictures... and what a screen! (Aside: This month's Edge had an "insider" claiming that Sony would ditch the PSP screen tech from E3 because of cost (he claimed $350 per console), but Phil Harrison claimed that Sony would do the opposite, and widen the view angle on the current screen before the PSP's release.)
Also, I see a lot of hands on pads on those photos... does that mean that playable demos were on show?

They did the same thing with PS2, and look what it got called. Still who know's it could be called something else, but somehow I doubt it.
Is talkman like an add on? Or is it like a program? What is known about it?

No Grand Turismo 4 wil not come with two discs. I have a picture that shows the open case with the CD in it by itself. I will show it later don't worry it'll show the truth. :) They were just showing the back of a CD!

White
Black
Yellow
Pink
Blue
Red
Green

yes it probably is a special GT4 version hence the GT logo on the upper left hand side of the white psp.

Even if DS had a million games on launch, and the PSP died on the 2nd day, I would still choose the PSP over the DS ^^.
