Does anyone know if the PSP will have a radio attachment on it (preferably built in, but if just peripheral, still ok) because i did not see it anywhere on it, but then again, i could have missed it in the specs section or something like that. i would reeaaaaaaaaalllllllyyyyyyy like to be able to hear the radio off of my PSP because i don't really buy many songs, i just listen to the readio, they have everything i want to hear, plus some interesting talk shows.

Maybe with the Wi-Fi (online) connection you'll be able to get digital radio/TV.

Their probably will be an peripheral for radio eventualy like they made a tv tuner for GBA but it would be better to just buy a radio.

Nah, add ons aren't the way to go. I'm sure digital radio/TV will be part of the Wi-Fi service in the future.

PSP doesn't need hardware add ons for radio/TV.

Yeah but I think its better just to buy a radio.

actually, going Wi-Fi, wouldn't you be able to get XM instead of just AM/FM?

i would like a digital TV to walk around with.( most hopfully with the good channels rather than just the regular home city channels.)

Isn't the whole point of PSP so that you don't need all these portable devices?

You can get digital radio/TV on the web through broadband, so PSP should be able to do exactly the same with Wi-Fi.

The hardware is already in the PSP for digital radio/TV, Sony just need to let us access it.

Yeah but I think its better just to buy a radio.

well yeah, i know that, but it would be nice to just have one little system in your pocket rather than having a gameboy, a dvd player, a pocket tv, a radio, an mp3 player, a PDA, etc. all with you at the same time, they wouldn't fit in your pocket, which was kinda the point of the PSP hehe.

EDIT: lol, sry for rewirte, i assinatially meant the same thing as you Nick, but i hadn't realized you had already posted that, sry.

It would be good especialy having a tv in a handheld they probably will do the radio but i doupt the tv part. and it is good that you only have to carry 1 handheld wich can do all those things.

Still think its unlikly but possibly as an add on. Some of those poket tvs are very good and have OLED displays but they are expensive.

Why would an add on be needed? If the PSP can already play video and music, why is there need for an add on?

Like I keep saying, I'm sure we can receive radio/TV through Wi-Fi.

Well dude ofcourse we can. But i dont really wanna listen to radio when i have UMD music right? As for TV - Sky seems nice. Maybe some Sky Sports and the Rugby Channel (YEA!)

hello, the reason i posted the topic is that i wanted to know if they have radio, i know you can use UMD music, but why would i use that when i can get everything free off of the radio? i might use it once in awhile, but for random music i want to listen to without taking up memory, i just use the radio.

They'll probably add an antenna to the USB port, if not u can make your own.

Shouldn't be that hard, seeing as most radios these days have a small wire for an antenna.

if you want a radio, then why just not buy a portable one?

are there any special reasons?

CrumCon

I think PSP should remain as it is right now, no more features added..

im already concerned about the price tag for this handheld..

agree, and you can just get a portable radio for less than $5

So it wouldent take much to put 1 in!

But if they havent got it now it wont have it AT LAUNCH.

So it wouldent take much to put 1 in!

it would take much place (antenna, etc.) and nobody really has a need of this (no, i dont mean me)

i gotta agree with you there, i know i acn get one for less than $5, and i have, but i just dont want to have to have both at the same time, just one little thing with everythingg in it, as mentioned earlier, besides, with that WiFi that was mentioned earlier, i think that we really will have nice radio/tv support.
