The Twisted Metal series hasn’t seen the release of a new full game since 2001’s Twisted Metal: Black. But there’s an end in sight to the car combat drought: Sony has unveiled a new game in the Twisted Metal series.

Well Twisted Metal Black was online on PS2 so I'd expect online play for this too.

I don't think that it was called World Tour in the NTSC regions, I think that it was just called Twisted Metal 2. So perhaps it will be called World Tour over there for the PSP and something different here?

I loved the Twisted metal games on the Ps1 and TMB: O as well. Hopefulyl this will be just as good.

Could always be developed by somebody else. I think that the developer of Medievil disappeared a fair while back, and that's coming to the PSP, so you never know.

I don't know why people didn't buy vigilante eight. I bought it in thailand and when i played it at home i fucking loved it, the two player mode was awesome as well.

I never played it, because i never even heard about it or saw it being released. shame really. vigilante 8 ruled, i loved the ufo, it was amazing. only vehicle i'd ever navigate

I really hope they stick to the same storyline and drivers as Twisted Metal 1 and 2, and not the mental patient story of TM: Black.

o boy TM:Black that was some insane crap! the pics of the PSP version looks alot like TM2 which is my favorite. with addition of some levels from different places

spectre was my favorite in all the games. but in 2 was hte only time he was realyl amazing. his speed and his specail the ghoast missle was great. all i did in hong kong was go into the big electric building go to the side top and shoot the missles and kill everyone because it was homming and could go through the walls. o great times. on PSP it will be awsome i will have to get it. well that is if it has some of the same levels from the TM2 game. o boy loved that game i can imagine TM2 with a face lift...o what a joy..especially paris man that level was kinda glitchy/laggy. but i mean im not even sure if they will have hte TM2 levels

My favorite was Warthog from TM 2. The patriot missiles were awsome. But then in TM 4 they ruined Warthog by making his special just a powered up remote bomb.

its on 1 2 and black the others were from a different developer...i think 989

Yeah, thats right. A lot of Twisted Metal fans denounce 3 and 4 and say that 989 ruined the series, but I think TM 4 is much better than TM: Small Brawl, which was made by the same group who made TM 1, 2, and Black.

As an interesting sidenote, Twisted Metal 2 was also released for PC but there was a lot of bugs in it and it wasn't marketed well.

TM Black was the only one released for the PS2.

yea the load times of black about made me want to go to that asylum i nthat game. i remeber that very well that when i would win it would be kinda gay and freeze up. i really wanted to unlock minion so i would play and play and play..then come to find out minion sucked. he wasnt worth my anger of loading times and freezes. it was gay. but was decent. TM2 will always be in my heart...but i only wish for better graphics. but yea small brawl sucked. and the world tour for PSP (which was also the name for TM2) looks good with a weapons selection screen that is different

Are you referring to the menuized list of weapons, as opposed to the icons?
Thats not different, its been in almost every Twisted Metal. If you go to one of the options menu, you have the choice between a text menu or icons. It's just that icons is the default.

In Twisted Metal 2, hold select and press down to change the weapons list view.

black was...well...odd. if you really want a good twisted metal go for the second one thats the one that really made the series. yea...wish i would of played TM black online..would have been interesting but tell me is it headset compatable? if not its not worth my time

Apart from Killzone and SOCOM I don't know of any other PlayStation 2 online games with voice communication.

Yeah, the weird thing was it was £20 when bundled with Twisted Metal : Black. Yet to purchase the Network adaptor on its own it would set you back £30... Strange.

As far as I know you can now get the Network adaptor for £20 on its own.

yea when i played co-op mode with my freind he was most of the time Mr. Slam mostly because Mr. Slam would own me because i was always spectre...but yea Mr.SLam was good...but i liked minion even better
