psp looks slim and smooth and stylish and playful
while ds got 2 screens and with wario ware and ouchscreen
while psp has got darkstalkers dam what a game :D
death jr :D
and gran turismo i think that seals the deal but i want to see live footage of the psp actually being played :roll:

come TGS 04 you will see lots and lots of in game footage, and besides you have plenty of time to make up your mind

DS will feature new gaming experiences but to what extention will we acctually enjoy it. Ofcourse the features it has are fun, but at the end of the day, all other gaming systems (consoles, other handhelds, ...) will still continue to have the normal gameplay everybody i used too and everybody enjoys.
The DS' extra features don't really impress me, exept for maybe the touch screen.

Voice recognision: i don't understand why they put it a feature. Voice recognision is 90% software and 10% hardware (microphone). The Psp could easely do and use it too but what would be the use. If a game needs to use it, they will implent the feature in the games.

Dual-Screen: Useless, still didn't see anything usefull done with it exept for changing clothes, small boring animations and ofcourse 70% of all games use it as a map.

Psp has the power and design. The two most important thing in any gaming device. Ofcourse with power i don't just mean graphic wise.
Also the big screen is a winner, the best way to enjoy a handheld as much as a console.

Whats the big deal about the DS.Wow,2 screens,it's got a touch screen,don't see how you can call that revolutionary.In Metroid prime your suposed to fire by tapping the screen on the enemy,how boring,how can that be a chellenge,i'd rather use an analog stick or mouse.The graphics look pretty lame compared to the PSP,it's like sony jumped a generation in handheld gaming,while nintendos behind trying their best

Now don't get me wrong, I LOVE sony and their consoles, GT series, R&C series etc. BUT, sayin that you'd choose Sony's exclusives over Nintendos is a completely misguided statement. HELLO, Mario, Zelda, Metroid, F-Zero, Animal Crossing, Pokemon... The list goes on. Now, I don't hate other consoles for the sake of it. But what i do hate is people who are blinded by love for their console. And who can't admit that they MIGHT have made a mistake in buying one when the other MAY have better games.

Now, you may ask why don't i go and get a nintendo? To be honest there's something about the potential of the PSP and the great things that are STILL being done on the PS2 that keeps me loyal to SONY.

All i can say is that when the next console war comes, whether it's in your pocket or your front room. We will be in an absolute gaming heaven.

It seems like GTA is heading towards GBA so im hoping it gets ported on the DS too.

Theres a pacman game called pac-pix in which you can draw pacman and the size changes, the bigger he is the harder he is to control, but in sections of the game he will have to be smaller whereas in other secions hell need to be big, interesting way to use the touch screen, apparently namco wanted to do it for a long time but couldnt find a dual screen console anywhere.

The voice recognition would be fun for an FPS(online Goldeneye or something), you could use your voice to control your character and it would do what you wanted it to do even though somebody else might be talking at the same time, its makes good for a game over LAN too.

Its pretty nifty but can it compete with PSP? Obviously not!

I disagree with the excusives.metroid i didn't like,pokemon,lol,come on now,mario is a bit dated,a remake of mario 64,played it to death(even though that was a good game)but hardly needs a remake,the only game i really enjoy is zelda.sonys got ratchet and clank and jak and daxter,i think
they were beter than any mario game,gran turismo,ico,ace combat,tekken,nfs underground(psp),metal gear,dont think the DS

Just keep in mind that the handheld market is very different to the console market and Nintendo have seen off all the competition in the past (Neo Geo Pocket Color, Atari Lynx, SEGA Geam Gear, etc.)

i have big respect for nintendo and sony.. i think you all should..

nintendo are legends of the gaming world... and its fact that gamers are getting bored with 2days games, sales worldwide are smaller on all formats.. and nintendo is trying its best to give gamers somthing new and taking a big financial gamble.. now i dont kno about you but i as a gamer applaud and want to give a big shout out to nintendo for there financial gamble in giving me as a gamer a new and unique way of gaming!!

i love nintendos games for the playability and quick pick up action!

and i love sony for there detailed stories/epics/muiltimedia/sleak designs and in general awesome playable games!

i myself will treat myself to both handhelds.. as i believe BOTH deserve a buy if one can afford it..

well I’m not sure their getting sick of games full stop, just sick of the standard console type stuff. some good innovation should help and also the Japanese culture is moving towards handheld mobile things, as a lot of them have very busy hectic lives and they just don’t want to have to set aside a few hours in advance to play a console game, they want to be able to play it on their way to work etc.. mostly smart multimedia products, which is why I believe that the PSP will be a huge hit in Japan, I think a lot of Japanese guys and some girls will buy one and then get one for their children etc... as I think most of them love the idea of having music movies and advanced games on all one handheld portable platform
whether the 2 new handhelds will reverse the decline though if so by how much is another question
