The actual battery life

I was able to download the sony press conference from gamespot.com and took the liberty of quoting Kaz Hirai and what he said about the psp battery life. I don't understander you people. sony gives you 1.5 hours and 10 hour of games play. you people can't be thankful of anythihng. 10 hours is the best thing to ever happen us. People talk about GBA and the SP having 10 or 11 hours is a good thing why should it be bad for sony psp?

Basicly the gaming aspect is the most inportant part of the psp anyways so be happy that they invested in the technology so we could play for 10 hours seperated from a power source.

are you people retarded??? why in the hell would it be longer during gameplay than watching a movie? gameplay takes more power. what he is saying is that the psp battery will be compareable to other electronic devices. so if you stuck a psp battery into a portable DVD player, it would last about 2.5 hours. if you put it into another portable gaming device (GBA, ngage, etc.) it would last about 10 hours. he never said how long it would last in the psp. after all, the psp is much more powerful than the ngage, so its probably going to consume alot more power. if you read the quote again, you'll see what i mean. i was thinking this, and then i read where ign said the same thing (http://psp.ign.com/articles/513/513734p1.html) so stop complaining about 2.5 hours of movies, because it could be alot less. and game time will probably be less than that

also, the reason DVD players suck down batteries faster than GBA/NGAGE is because it has to spin a disc....so does the psp. so gameplay length could vary on whether the game is cached or streamed.
