Brute Force Gamespot Review (http://www.gamespot.com/xbox/action/bruteforce/index.html)
Comparisons between Brute Force and the Xbox's undisputed king, Halo, are unavoidable. But to suggest that Brute Force is in the same league as Halo would be to give Digital Anvil's new third-person squad-based sci-fi shooter too much credit, or Bungie's extraordinarily good first-person shooter not enough. Brute Force borrows liberally from Halo, and it's for the Xbox, and those are really the only reasons the two games should be mentioned in the same sentence.
Gamespot: 7.6 :(
IGN: 8.1 :(

So much for the next Halo...xboxers at my school hyped this to death too...disappointment.

...it's on X-Box... didn't I tell you they were fated to mediocrity and disaster? Every console has three big games on it for sure, but I won't pick up a console with at least 6 big games in the first two years.

^but with that logic you have to wait a year before buying a console.....

i bought an xbox for morrowwind, the new conker title and halo and halo 2. of course i got it used and a friend got me his employee discount, payed less than 120 for it. still my gamecube gets most of the play. i heard so much about this game, that kind of hype usually doesn't pan out.

The advertising is already all over the television. Nintendo should try something like that, ya know, advertising. Even if they started small with something like flyers in the mail and moved into snail-mail.

I waited three years before I bought a Playstation, and two years before I bought an N64. I waited a year for Gameboy Advance.
The only system I ever bought right off the bat was Gamecube, because I liked the idea of Pikmin, Rogue Squadron, Tony Hawk 3, and Super Smash Brothers Melee. 5 games that I wanted within a couple of months wasn't a bad thing... so I picked up Gamecube for my birthday in February last year.
Before I ever got my Gamecube, I played Halo on the X-Box... aside from the large controller, I loved Halo. The problem is, about a year after the fact, a friend of mine rented an X-Box and Halo and WWF RAW... the wrestling game wasn't very good, and Halo was still the only reason to buy a Box. Now that it's on PC, I don't have a need for that box.
I would buy a PS2, but all the games that were on it that I liked got ported to Gamecube, with the exceptions of Final Fantasy X, and WWE Smackdown: Shut Your Mouth. Otherwise Cube's getting Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles, WWE Wrestlemania XIX, and cube has Red Faction II, Legends of Wrestling, Resident Evil, and Viewtiful Joe (I finally played the demo... it's a must-own), just to name a few (I'm no Phantagram).

Because I don't want it doesn't mean it's not good. I don't want Splinter Cell, but does that mean that I don't think it's good? No.
Making uneducated comments = post above this one

No, I don't want it because I'm not into 3rd person games. Same reason I'm not interested in MGS, Splinter Cell, Hitman 2, etc.

Last time i checked, 5.0 was normal; and on gamespot, it said "Good". Also, 8.1 aint bad either.
Watch, when Halo 2 gets a 9.5, people are gonna be all " BIGGEST DISSAPOINT EVER!!!1"

Who'd have thought that all of the above mentioned "XBox ______" would give it high scores?
HolyPaladin
05-31-2003, 11:57 PM
Frowns for 7.6 and 8.1? Has the concept of numbers and their meanings faded away during the past years? Assuming that these are on a scale from 1 to 10, 5 would be average since it is in the middle, which places 7.5 at comfortably above average and 8.1 way above average. By the time a game gets to 9 or higher, it is almost without fault or flaw. 10 would be perfect and flawless. Unfortunately, gamers have decided that 10 is good, 9.5 is above average, 9 is average, and anything from 8.9 on down through the remaining 90% of possible scores is crap.
Don't get me wrong, though. The game never interested me. I don't have an Xbox and have no real need for one, since I have a computer, but I wouldn't have wanted the game even if I did own a refrigerator-sized radiator that happens to play DVDs.
