I remember reading that XBox live will have lots of downloadble content, but i haven't heard much about it. So what can you download on XBox live as of now?

Off the top of my head:

Splinter Cell - new mission
ToeJam and Earl III - new character/mission?
MX Superfly - unlock 2 tracks
MechAssault - new game modes, mechs
Unreal Championship - game fix, new maps
NBA 2K3 - roster updates
NFL 2K3 - roster updates

Trust me, as time goes on, more and more games will make better use of the service.

EDIT: Live is definitely worth it. It's hassle free and there is little to no lag. Plus, it's very easy to use and keep track of your friends and what not with Live.

Downloadable content? My account isn't set-up yet, but my cousin has MechAssault and Splinter Cell.

i know, but im just wondering what its like now, so i can deside if i want speakers or XBox live and broadband.

You don't need expensive speakers; $50 Dolby Digital 4.1 speakers are just fine.

Live is 50, bb monthly would be 45, and add a install, that is really expensive, i want to make sure that live is all what it is cracked up to be.

Yup and there are many more xbox live games coming in the future that will get new content. Nayrk, I think Xbox Live is Definitely worth its price because it makes Xbox live enabled games very fun and can add new maps, levels, and weapons to great games like unreal championship and mechaasault!

^i see how that is a nice thing to have, but ive never really been a fan of Unreal or MechAssualt. Im a quake man myself.

What's wrong with MX Superfly? Sure I like MX 2002 Feat. Ricky Charmichael, but it's still fun and if it's cheap I'll pick it up.
