How do you play SSBM?

I know when i have people over, we usually play a few melee, a few stamina .5 and alot of ssd with 2.0 damage and no weapons.

How do you guys play it?

I just go normal melee with stock as 10 and all weapons. then sometimes its free for all or team match

Whats cool is giant melee with nothing but super mushrooms, and you go mario and do his taunt. he goes big.

I usually just play stock mode and change the amount of lives. Pretty boring, eh?

Always level 9s.

We play stock, ALWAYS. Some times just to make it twice as frantic, we play on exceptionally small levels, and make bob-ombs, pokeballs, and hammers the only items.

Stock, usually five but as low as one depending on how many people are waiting to play. Typically, I play with no items. Samus is hardly ever used... Usually everyone wants to use Link, despite his crappy jumping and crappy... everything.

We play stock battles mainly. Anywhere between 5 and 10 is good. We also do this thing where we play with 99 lives and the only item is the poke balls and they're set on high occurence so they coem down all the time and it's so crazy. We sometimes do tournaments.

There is a lot of confusion to the difference between "cheap" and "overall best" on the internet. Marth is literally overall the best character when you take into account speed, power, agility etc.

Marth isn't a cheap character though. A player can be a cheap player if he's all they ever use. However, if a player isn't a dirty little coward they'll rotate their use.

As for Jigglypuff being useless, he is actually a very good character in the hands of a master. He was once my main character, and god, was I fearsome. Now he is just a character I use when someone new comes to play and I wanna lull them into a false sense of security. Then I rest the shit out of everything.

As for play mode, Jimmy.C and myself pretty much just play one on one 10 stock matches on either Final Destination or Hyrule Temple with no weapons. Boring, maybe, but it is a true test of skill. No distractions, winning just because you used skill.

I sometimes use Shiek, I'm trying to get better with her. I'm also good with Roy C. Falcon. If I can't use Marth, than I'll use Captain Falcon.

^ No, he is actually the best character in the game. I use Marth a fair bit and own all with him. However, it's not fair if I use him all the time because he is just overpowered. It's not a fair fight.

i always used to use Samus but then i realised i pretty much sucked with her and how cool link is so now i`m trying to get good with link. quite ironic since i hate zelda games, i know.

Since the V Games Tournament I've been playing by their rules, 5 Stock, No Weapons, Final Destination, on normal ratio. And Marth is awsome, not cheap. He's not overpowered either Roy's more powerful then Marth just slower.

Anyway I can take on anyone with Marth. Unless you scored a higher then 8th place in a tournament :(

Uhg, I hate the word ¨cheap.¨ It has been observed, however, that there are certain characters that are just better in terms of speed, power, knockback, etc. Shiek, Marth, and Fox do seem to be more powerful than the rest. Many people agree that Bowser is the most useless. Some people disagree, and say they are all balanced. I never looked into it long enough to form an opinion, though.

Fox IS cheap. its like impossible to knock him off with that stupid rocket boosting thrusting move he does.

of course i wouldnt call him cheap if i was using him and not the one getting bashed by him.

How is Fox´s rocket thing(I think it´s called firefox?) any different from anyone else´s recovery attack? You can smack Fox away like a baseball if you time it right, as that move doesn´t have very high priority.

Anyways, the best matches I've ever had are on Final Destination, no items, duling to the death, with 7 lives. One on One only. Whenever I go into GameCrazy, that's how I kill the guys who work there.

I normally play as Roy/Link/Samus/Young Link in order from Most used to least used.
