just got a ps2, n/a, and wireless router. the guy at best buy said i wouldnt need nething else to hook it up and get it online. but when i tried it didnt work. the problem is my computer and cable modem are upstairs while my ps2 is in the basement. so do i need to run a cat5 cable from the router upstairs to the basement where the ps2 is, or should it be working?

no...
Its a wireless router
now you have to buy a wireless adapter for the PS2
Good luck with that

Um, yeah, you can run an ethernet cable from upstairs to downstairs if you want. I have a wireless router and I have 2 computers hard wired and 3 wireless. As for PS2, I don't know if you can communicate wirelessly with it, but I'm pretty sure a hard wire will work.

Best solution: Get rid of the POS2.
