Nothing like a program that tells you absolutely nothing about it before you join.

from the looks of it they give you a few hundred MS points if you give them money for other things.

pretty much. been in the beta since last year and I've gotten about 1600 points since then. Too bad they were fake points.
The chart frosty posted above hasn't changed much from the beta. So when I activated Netflix I got that 100 points etc. All of this is kind of pointless and lame but I figure, if you're gonna spend might as well spend and get something back.
I'd rather it be rewards for achievements like they used to do back in 2006 with milestones. Stuff that matters. Spend so and so hours on Xbox LIVE, have over 2 years of Xbox LIVE Gold, play over xx amount of games - stuff like that.

So what happens if you already have Netflix running?
Meh, I don't think I'll be a fan of this because unless it goes back in time and tracks what I did then I'm going to have many points.

They have potential to turn this into a valid answer to playstation plus' free content, but they need to tweak it further. I do like that they are not restricting it solely to live gold users, that's one good start for them. however, more incentive is needed, as you guys said.

Nah, I don't think it's like PS+.
It's a direct answer to the bonus program Sony has... which I also haven't paid attention to.

I don't think it's a direct answer exactly - seeing as it's been in beta for over a year now while PSN's is just now entering beta. Sony was just first to announce it.

Oh really? I didn't know that because I wasn't in the beta, obviously. Either way, I don't know how rewarded I will feel by either one.
P.S. You little nerd... almost 100k GS!!

 yeah I think when I hit 100k I'll probably stop caring about achievements. Kind of already stopped now and if you'd check my list, I don't even bother to try and 1000G/100% games anymore. Just play to play. Back then, having a big number was THE ISH. Now it's "damn mike, do you ever leave the house!?"
I need incentives to such hard work!
You'll still play for achievements. It never stops. You just end up playing less games.
I signed up for the rewards thing since I see no harm in doing so. Also, getting a quarter for a monthly survey sounds silly.

When they give me rewards for all the shit I have bought previously, let me know.

this is where i'm on MS's side (GOD help me). you cannot expect them to be retrospective. this is just another way of encouraging people to go LIVE. it's only the same as PS+ in a way.
edit: Lucent is right, it's more like this:

but i still think the retro argument isn't valid
