View Full Version : Nintendo losing EA sports support...

It started with fight night, and it seemed logical, because many nintendo fans never picked up EA other boxing forays. It was understandable, yet disappointing not to see a game like Fight Night, but now it seems nintendo won't be getting another game from EA Big, and that game is NBA street Volume 3. What is the cause of this you may ask...I really don't have any idea, maybe it will come later, or a mistake but Ign exclusive says a different story...NS:V3 was only announce for Ps2 and XB. Even though volume 2 sold well on the purple box, I really don't expect to see it coming late after the Xbox and Ps2 versions are realsed...click here (http://sports.ign.com/articles/533/533019p1.html) to see what I'm talking about...

The article says nothing of the sort. It only states that online features are for Xbox and PS2. The newest EGM says NBA Street Vol. 3 will be released for GameCube.

You scared me when I read the title. I thought it meant all of the EA sports games including NHL series which is awesome.

Still this sucks that NBA Street 3 is not coming out for the Cube.

Spartan, are you a fucking idiot? It is coming out for GameCube. Do you read the posts or are you just interested in hearing the sound of your own typing?

If only Gamecube had online then Burnout 3 would also be coming to the Cube.

"Once you've figured out your game, your favorite team, and even your favorite courts, you'll then be able to bring your skills online for the first time in the series for both the PS2 and Xbox."

it's coming to the Gamecube.

... I am still sad that these sports games will sell 2 milion copies, despite the fact that they are the same game year after year

^yah no kidding. I hear stuff like "You will never get bored!" and "Its a new game every time you play!".... then how come you must buy every other sequel afterwards, i say... and they say "Because it is different!"

Sadly I think it's true. I saw it and it looks tight, they said that online was the focus on the game and they wanted players to experience it in all it's glory...but Cube doesn't have any online support:)

IGN's PS2 site doesn't link to the story either, so that doesn't necessarily mean anything. EGM says that Vol. 3 is coming to the Cube. I think their input is far more valuable than the theorizing and specious reasoning of nintendonow readers.

EA always put almost all of their effort into their PS2 games. They develop the games for PS2. Then they port the games to XBOX and GC. I don't know about the XBOX ports, but I know 007 everything or nothing for GC has some crap quality video for cutscenes and the controls suck. Ass.

I don't care about EA. Penis to them.

Someone above said that Vol. 3 won't be worth it cause sports games are typically the same year after year - well, to me, the inclusion of online alone makes it worth it, particularly because this is the type of game built for smack talk. However, I think there is more to look forward to than that; from what I remember, Vol. 2 supposedly included a host of new features over the first (I have v2), so we can only hope the same will be true with 3.

The New EGM has NBA Street 3 listed for GCN, XBOX and Ps2.

if you are referring to the GC version being online...think again.
:tardbang:

damn, I need a xbox..
but damn xbox2 backwards compatibility is non-existant

Oh lol, sorry, I wasn't implying that. I sometimes forget that I am in a Gamecube board, and that not everyone is also blessed with a 'Box like I am.

Let me restate that then: In MY case, the inclusion of online alone makes it worth it. But there are bound to be plenty of improvements anyway.

Meh, I never really like any EA games that much so if they stopped making any for the cube I wouldn't worry.

I can't stand when people only comment on the first post. It's a fucking discussion for a fucking reason you morons, not "everyone comment on the first post!"

Anyways, the game will be on GameCube, just not the online portion. V2 sold fairly well, and they'd be stupid not to have V3 as well.

PSOIII has been out for quite some time, its PSO+ that is coming out soon or did come out recently.
