It's about time Nintendo starts releasing stuff about the game, considering it's only one month away.

Is it just gonna be that red box without the white strip up top like normal Wii boxs? If so then that is badass.

Interesting box art. They are putting a lot of the focus on Samus in the game and this box art shows that quite literally.

No idea, but I'm hoping they do keep it like that.

I'm thinking it's art for a slip cover. the actual case art will probably have that white bar at the top. or black but Cero B don't get black cases do they?

I'm hoping that Nintendo give this game a black case outside of Japan. the red case for MSMB looks so good. i'd like to see them do it with other big games. Black for Metroid, Gold for Zelda, Green for DK Country, Blue for F-Zero (when they get around to announcing it)

You know, I think the Metroid Other M case should be metal. You know, since the game follows Samus and she's inside of a metal suit, and the case is a picture of Samus in her suit, they should make it metal.

Metroid: Other M To Include Two Hour Movie Version Of Game (http://kotaku.com/5600764/metroid-other-m-to-include-two-hour-movie-version-of-game)

The storytelling aspect of Other M continues to play a major role even after you beat the game, the way [Nintendo designer Yoshio] Sakamoto puts it. "There's a 'theater mode' that lets you view all of the cutscenes linked together seamlessly as a single movie," he explained. "We placed just as much weight on enjoying the story as we did on the action aspects of this game, but it's hard to fully communicate a storyline in a video game with just one playthrough. At the same time, though, it's asking a lot of players to beat the game twice to get it all, so that's where the idea for that mode came from. It lets you make a lot of discoveries, things you missed or dialogue that makes more sense in retrospect. I hope it helps people understand the story better."

This theater-mode movie is about two hours in length and divided into chapters like a DVD film. It's not just the movie cutscenes straight from the game, though — there's some pre-recorded gameplay bits to it as well, although those sections aren't recorded off your own moves as you beat the game. "I wanted to do that," Sakamoto said, "but we're using our own sample play data instead because that's also a way of giving the player hints — like, you can beat this particular boss this way too, and so forth."

You know i cringe when i hear talk of story and Team Ninja in the same sentence but it really looks like they put a lot of effort in it for once.

Also it looks like getting 100% completion is going to be an even bigger pain in the ass than usual.....
Another notable tidbit: the game's creators believe players will only find 30% of the game's items on the first play through. I think Metroid players who pride themselves on discovering each entry's secrets will consider that a challenge.

i would too but that didn't happen anywhere in what you quoted and the Nintendo is in charge of the story not Team Ninja.

good to hear the item finding is going to be a challenge. it look forward to failing to attain 100% items.

Looks friggen sweet. Day one purchase. I'm actually looking forward to a slightly more cinematic approach to the metroid formula. Prime 2 and 3 didn't really hook me like Prime 1, and I'm hoping tons of flashy shit will suck me in
