That was to celebrate the MAC launch so I doubt you'll see it often (if at all).
Most Steam sales are as good as 'free' though.

HUGE SALES

Summer sales almost every game is on sale. Some really crazy deals.

I really wish I had a better PC.

masteratt

OMFG....Sales overload...There is something called TOO MUCH SALE, Steam, sheesh.

Just kidding of course!
I skimmed through for a few seconds, mostly collection packs (Star Wars pack/ R* pack/ India pack etc) so far. Gonna try to hunt some good games on their own, although nothing comes to mind when I try to think of something I'd want. Recently bought Deus Ex as well so I'm not in a buying mood but hopefully something good for an irresistible price pops up.

It's for TODAY ONLY!!!! (16hrs left on the UK countdown) GO GO GO PEOPLE!

TRINE for £3.40......hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
The Witcher: Enchanced Edition for £4.41.....hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

D3adcell
06-25-2010, 12:42 AM
The witcher is 6$ so I was thinking of that and the THQ complete pack comes with all the company of hereos games and titan quest gold.... but yeah I don't really need them and I need a better PC.

masteratt
06-25-2010, 12:44 AM
Yeah just added The Witcher to my cart, always wanted to play that. Not interested in Company Of Heroes, re-installed it the other day, felt outdated.
Trine and The Withcer in my cart already.....Trine might be erased though, depends how many more I put in and how expensive overall price gets.

All the money I made from selling my games is going back into games probably because of this deal :(

Second ~Sight for £1.69..............hmmmmmmmmm
Cold Fear £3.34...hmmmmmmmmmmmm...always wanted to try that...
Overlord complete pack £3.75....hmmmmmmm......always had fun with those demos

They usually also do a daily sale thin with these themed sales, like the christmas sale, etc. I doubt they would just have the one day deal to kick it off.

Wounding I just hate the price of the hardware. :(

I know what you mean, but the hardware anymore is rather affordable (depending on what you want). I just put together an i7 setup (just cpu, mobo, and ram) for less than 400 usd. This of course sounds expensive but a pc is an extremely versatile tool in ones home.

I picked up NBA 2k10 for the heck of it. There isnt much out there that I dont already have that I want. I wouldnt mind trying to get into Aion but I think I will wait for FF14.

You can say that^^ Basically every id Game beside the cut down version of Doom 3 and Quake 4 (which is cut beyond belief) are banned... all spin off games too (Duke 3D, partly Commander Keen, all Apogee games, most 3D Realms games)...

But... if those games were released today, none of them would've been banned... and UT1 was not banned... and compare that to Q3A.

Fable 3 & The Witcher 2 is coming out tomorrow. Also Dirt 3 is coming out in a week and Operation FP: Red River is coming out in three weeks. If you pre purchase Dirt 3, you get Dirt 2 for free (you can gift it to someone else if you want).

I didn't like Runaway 1... never played the rest. Found that the puzzles were MUCH TOO complex (i.e. either required pure luck or trial and error) for its own good.

masteratt
03-16-2012, 08:36 AM
I agree with you on one of the Runaways, can't remember which. But yeah one of them really annoyed me to the point where I thought "f this" and I just walkthrough'ed through the game. Very lame I know but hey.

I really liked the others though, and The Next Big Thing is pretty damn good so far. Although maybe the balance tipped a LITTLE bit too much to the easy side (had no real trouble and I am 4.2 hours in). It's very hard to balance these games but them being balanced 'ok' to 'good' level and mostly the good writing (had a few chuckles and lols in all their games), means their games are a wonderful adventure to be a part of for me.

Plus I just love PnC games to begin with. After finishing off TNBT and after 'Yesterday', I've got 5 episodes of new Monkey Island waiting :) Which will hopefully time itself nicely into the Double Fine PnC adventure.

Segitz

I bought not a whole lot (short on cash), but got Trine 2, DCS Black Shark and the Pendulo Bundle for about 24€. Friend of mine gifted Dead Island to me (you cannot buy this game in Germany), which is nice. Cool game, too.

Yeah, my main back catalog is on the PC and I'm just adding more to it lol. I've been holding off on playing alot of PC games due to the fact I plan on building a PC. I was planning on doing it this fall, but I might wait until next year as Intel's Haswell CPU will hit (and alot of other interesting technologies).

Edit: So Crysis 2 went back on sale for 70% off so I got Crysis 2: Maximum Edition, The Splinter Cell Echelon Pack, Insanely Twisted Shadow Planet, The Amonita Bundle, The Witcher 2 Enhanced Edition, Alan Wake, and Limbo. So including the games withing the bundles, I believe I bought around 19 games total (including the ones from the past couple of days) lol.

Max Payne 3 for £7. Always something I want going for cheap when I have no cash :(

Newboi
11-26-2012, 06:22 PM
I got Max Payne 3, Mark of the Ninja, and Torchlight II. I might not be playing Max Payne 3 for awhile though as it's a whooping 32 GB!!!!!!!!!

I'm only rocking a 256GB SSD and I already have a bunch of game installed on it. I'm going to have to beat several of them and uninstall them before I can enjoy Max Payne 3. I've never seen a game remotely this big lol.

Anyways, I played the first stage of Mark of the Ninja and I have to say that game is obscenely fun. The stealth mechanics are absolutely incredible. I also played Torchlight 2 some. It's really fun, and it has also reminded me that I haven't played a dungeon crawler in years lol. Borderlands 2 was 50% off, but I realized that I would be spending another 30 to 60 bucks on DLC anyways. I'd rather wait for the game of the year version to arrive and go on sale that has all of the DLC bundled. With the huge back catalog I have right now, I wouldn't even get to play it for another year (if I'm disciplined in just plowing through my games...which I won't be lol).

D3adcell

Those sales were absolutely phenomenal. Sad thing is, I didn't know about the sale until just yesterday and missed a majority of it. But from what I saw and from what I heard, it was quite great. I was really thinking about picking up Sonic Generations and Chivalry: Medieval Warfare, but I refused as I have way too many other games (on console) to get through. They'll probably be up for sale again during the Steam Holiday Sale anyway. They ARE doing that this year, right? The reason I ask is because I don't remember them doing the Steam Autumn Sale this late. If my memory serves me correct, it's usually done in October. And ending a sale just to put a new one up the following week would be kind of strange. If they are doing it, then it'll probably be much later in December compared to a whole half month's worth of sales like it usually is.

A lot of the sales for games previously on sale can go on sale again during the same Fall Steam sale.

Just keep your eye on the flash sales and stuff. At least I think it's possible. I'm pretty sure last Steam sale I noticed that a few games which were featured deals also went on flash sales.

Also I think the last day they might do a best sellers list of deals? I think they do that too sometimes.

Bought Witcher 2 for a friend for 7.49 CAD :)

My GoG version was 22.49 I think or something like that, but worth it too :)

They're going crazy with their stuff at the moment. The Humble Bundle was a pretty good deal to start with, and they've already added an extra three games to that I think.

2 games and some RF dlc

Titan Quest is frigging awesome, better than D3 and TL2 imo, feels more like Diablo Ii. Frigging TL2 and Diablo 3 throw way too much useless items at you. At least in Titan Quest when I find an item it has a proper chance at improving your character lol.

They kind of silently did this, but the Steam Holiday Sale began just a few hours ago.

I haven't bought anything. I have enough games and all the new ones I'm kind of interested in are all more than $20. So buying at that price doesn't even feel like a Steam sale lol.

I wanted Space Marine to be part of the THQ bundle though :(

I'm going to wait out the whole thing this year I think. I have a lot of awesome games from Humble Bundles and a lot of PS3 games to catch up on.

Yeah i'm not really seeing anything interesting. Amazon had Dark Siders collection for 13$ (1 and 2 plus all DLC for 2). But even that I have so many games to play now and don't know when i'll get around to it so i'm going to pass. The one game I want is The Secret World. I should have gotten it last weekend on amazon for 15$ but i'm hoping steam will have it on sale.

I'm kind of sad I bought Legend of Grimrock from Steam on the Autumn sale though lol, because now it's on the Humble Bundle 7 and I sort of wanted Shank 2... even though I haven't played Shank from a previous HB, I would've liked having both. Don't want it enough to buy it alone though. I might drop some money for the HB though and just donate or something.

I just wanted to say that if you plan on getting Bioshock Infinite for PC, you guys should definitely pre-order it via Steam. You are guaranteed to get a free copy of Bioshock and if enough people pre-order it, everyone will get a free copy of XCOM: Enemy Unknown for the PC!!!!

If you don't currently own Far Cry 3, there's an amazing sale happening on Steam right now.

You can currently buy the game for $29.99 or you can buy the ENTIRE FAR CRY SERIES, INCLUDING THE DLC FOR FAR CRY 3, for just $10 more.

A wise man once told me, "If you pass up a perfect opportunity, you're a fucking moron."

Over here they've screwed up the pricing. You can buy Far Cry 3 for $39.99(+10 you live in NZ tax), or the Franchise pack for only $0 extra, $39.99. :)

Yea they do that sometimes... I've noticed that pricing on some of the Steam seasonal sales lol.

I wasn't all that bothered about pre-ordering at first, because I already have a copy of Bioshock. Been interested in trying out XCOM though, so I've pre-ordered it now. Only problem I have right now is that I have about 35MB left on my 1TB data drive, gonna need to get hold of another drive quickly! The last of my remaining space was eaten up by the Assassin's Creed games. Picked up II, Brotherhood, Revelations and III for £30 last night. Oh yea, I also got Rayman Origins the day before.

So much for not buying any more games!

Mine came with it too but I won't use it if pre-order bonuses don't work with a code. Because I rather pre-order directly it and get X:COM as well (assuming it unlocks, which it probably will).

I'm playing one game at a time right now (finished Max Payne 3 over the weekend btw), it's just when you get a bunch of games pop up for peanuts, then I may as well pick them up. Then on top of that you've got all these new games I wanna play, like Bioshock and Tomb Raider.

At least now I can actually play games, so I've got more time to get through all of these.

I got Rayman Origins and Far Cry 3 from the Ubisoft sale. I was thinking about Assassins Creed 3, but the gameplay of the series ran it course for me in AC2. I bought Revelations and got bored with it instantly.

I do have to say that Far Cry 3 is one of the most fun games I've played in a very long time. It runs well and looks amazing on my rig.

Hey Guys, just to let everyone know; All pre-order unlockables are now unlocked for BioShock Infinite so that means a free copy of XCOM and a free copy of Bioshock for all previous, recent, and soon to be Steam pre-orders.

Red Orchestra 2: Heroes of Stalingrad is only $2.99 through this weekend. There's also a free weekend happening for the game as well.

I don't know about you guys, and this is kind of awkward or strange to say nowadays, but I've kind of missed the WWII shooters. I remember the days when we were all sick of them and begged devs to go modern.

I miss them too, it doesn't sound weird at all.

It lends itself to gameplay better too, because not every weapon is an assault rifle/rapid firing thing. Some are fast, slow, very slow at firing.

It's why I play DoD Source, much more fun for me than COD in respect to MP. The variance in weapons lends itself to more depth imo, and more fun to change classes and stuff when they are so different, like changing from a scout to MG.

And since the game's on sale, maybe this Pacific campaign expansion that's going to be coming out soon is even more of an incentive to pick it up.
