Nintendo's GameCube snowboarding game gets a release date.
Nintendo has announced that 1080 for the GameCube will in fact be released this winter in Japan. The game was last shown in video form at Spaceworld 2001, but since then, reports have indicated that the version shown at the show was completely scrapped and that the project was restarted from the ground up.
A North American release date has not been announced.

The reason 1080 is being started from scratch is because the original developers, Left Field Productions (most of them), have become third party breaking away from Nintendo. Now they're creating games for both GCN and PS2. Now PS2 gets the once exclusive 1080 goodness. I think the main person who made 1080 is still with Nintendo. I wonder if Nintendo will let another company like Sega create it. That would be kinda cool.

Did I say that? Read it again.
If Nintendo lost their Zelda license and Capcom was making games with the Zelda license which company would do better and still have the Zelda goodness? Of course Nintendo. Maybe no Zelda look but the Zelda feel is still there.

Left Field are the original creators of 1080. Nintendo still keeps the 1080 name and stuff but PS2ers will get to experience how 1080 plays even thought they won't see the 1080 look. When I said goodness I meant the fun of it. If I mean graphics I would have done something as simple as saying graphics.

Bull shit, the best snowboarding game I've ever played was Twisted Edge Extreme Snowboarding for N64.
