...on IGN full of it? Apparently he thinks GC has already failed after only a few months of matching Xbox. Somethin' wrong with dat. So Halo is beating SSB: Melee w/ a 2.5 week lead, RL is still selling good and higher on that list than any XB game except Halo. GC games are clustered at the top (a few in the middle) and XB games are clustered at the other end with the lone exception of Halo & Max Payne. Remember folk, PSX and Saturn were still neck and neck at this time........

That article is stupid. Comparing game sales on 2 different genres is inaccurate.

I'm almost certain that Halo and SSB:M would have sold the same ammount if they had the same release date.

Well I don't trust TRST data anyways, but I think he's over-negative, one winter a success does not a console make. If they're in the same position after next winter, then I'll be worried.

But he's right about the advertising part. Nintendo gives the common gamer too much credit. They do not want to wait and see what's available, they want what's cool now. They want the in thing, and MS's advertising gave it that image. Nintendo has by no means lost the race, it's 4 years from finishing the race. Nintendo's problems are that they have to continually put out new games, they've gotten better so far, but it's far too soon to tell, next they need to market more to the 'mature' gamer because those games are popular with older gamers, and especially with younger gamers who are told they aren't supposed to play them. Public perception is a powerful thing, and Nintendo has to get these stores to place their games up fromt, they have to get these stores to put up kiosks. They most absurd thing I've ever seen, is that Compusa does not put up a GC kiosk, why? Nintendo had extremely impressive sales, no matter where it ranked in them, and that to me shows that there are plenty of gamers who try before they buy, and weigh the pros and cons of each system. Now imagine if Nintendo could grab those common gamers who go for advertising and the 'cool' factor. They'd beat MS, unfortunately, Nintendo is still a little too cocky and they think they can do that without the ad blitz and public image changing.

IGN sucks, plain and simple. And it's not just that article, which I didn't read, but basically they really do suck. I prefer other gaming sites. And just opinion by experience works well for me.

I can't even read it because of the IGN subscription service. I'm only a free member so I could see the preview of Spy Hunter on the PS2. The site is sweet but they just over-rate a bit too much, are pretty slow cos of all the work they have to go to and everything is locked.

Judging whatr I've heard, it pisses me off. Why do so many people judge the sales between the systems, they are all pretty much equal except for the PS2 because of their 2 year advantage. He aksi can't judge a system by it's launch. Remember how bad the launch for the n64 was? The n64 turned out to be a very good system although it could have gotten a bit more 3rd party support. Now the GCN launch is about 6x better plus the system is easy to develop for which attracts s lot of 3rd parties that make the system even better. It wouldn't piss me off though if some IGN guy posted something like that 1-2 years later because they have given the system a chance for all the AAA titles to come out.

I read it!

It was actually a good article.

True and unbiased.

Really showed the Nintendo difference.

Either you guys don't agree with him because you just don't or that you guys are GameCube fanboys and you don't want to broaden your vision.
